Market on the Mountain — Local services in Lookout Mountain

Haven’t left a 1 star review in years, but we pulled up to this market parking to buy some snacks at the market. Before I even got out of my vehicle, a girl walked out and said “umm not to be rude but, this is only 15 minute parking” And I said “don’t worry we’ll be in to buy from you in a minute!” When I went in, the girl was nowhere to be found so I asked the cashier if it was normal for them to ask people who have just parked if they know they have only 15 minutes and the gal said she didn’t know and that she was new. The whole interaction felt off. My family was in buying snacks at the market as well and the minute I left, they relayed to me that the first girl started gossiping about how frustrated she was. In front of all the other customers. Y’all can keep your store and all your overpriced products....

Rude & unprofessional staff!! As I pulled up to the front of the store for a soda I was met by a quite cranky young lady informing my sister of the 15 min parking rule. I had just showed up and my sister had been there for only 5mins. She was not only rude about it and come on lady… IT WAS 5 MINUTES!!!!

Also as I was shopping in this very small store. I could clearly hear the two front counter sales ladies bitching about how “people just think they can park there and do whatever they want”. Lady this is how you loose business before it walks in! You should be fired! But, I don’t think that will happen, as there seems to be a very snooty feel attached to that part of the hill. NOT GOOD FOR BUSINESS!!

And it not the only rude...

It is a great location and very convenient and every time I go I hope to like it more. I think it is important to support small businesses. Unfortunately it is very expensive, which is expected since there is no competition. They do have a variety of items at this small store. There is even a deli/ meat market but the made salad I bought was not very good and costly. The service is poor and the many times I have been here there is always a wait to pay with no customers or one other customer. The staff is not friendly or helpful. More of a gas station market.
