Being a retired army Warrant Officer I was looking forward to my first visit with anticipation after many years waiting to see results. I had no idea what to expect. Driving is was easy with lots of free parking, it was raining this day so the number of guests was very light. At the door we found out tickets were needed before our arrival, but that was handled quickly ,we were in. There was an abundance of docents this day and they interacted throughout our visit. The museum has only been open since mid Summer, so it looks new everywhere. It feels like a hospital with lighting, and lack of color, and much space not being utilized intentionally. The museum is layed out in chronological order, left to right, mostly on one floor. It has been planned out professionally, so it probably cost an enormous amount of money to design. What is there is very nice to experience. I recommend visiting without hesitation. Now, my personal feeling. I was disappointed because what I wanted to see was not there, a long story, and I thought there was a lot if dead space that could be utilized. That is just me,...

Greens had been punched a few weeks ago, but we're rolling fairly true, though certainly slower than the greens at my country club. Course is tight and very unforgiving if you get off he fairways as the is little transition from fairways to rough. They have added some new holes to the Woodlawn course we played that are still maturing. I was annoyed by their almost random establishment of environmental areas as a means to add difficulty and penalties to holes when the area was clearly not environmentally sensitive. Locals that we played with said that one area was because a tree that protected the character of the hole had blown down. Still the golf was fun and the clubhouse is well above average for a military rec services facility. Food was ordinary snack bar food, nothing special. Enjoyable day on a decent military course. Price was...
Read moreDon’t even waste your money here. The greens are in term only. All the greens are chewed up and might have a couple blades of grass on them. The sand traps are rock hard and many of them have exposed concrete/asphalt showing. The golf carts are old and a safety hazard with how much the elevation changes. Our cart would eventually stop despite having the brake pedal pegged to the floor. The 2nd rider in our cart had to get out on a hill so it would be able to clear it.
Maintenance on a course is a given but most courses advertise the maintenance and/or give you a discount to play on a course undergoing extensive upkeep….Belvoir…nada.
Trash cans were overflowing on the course and many of the water stations didn’t even have a cooler in them.
And yes that is a picture of a raccoon by the 2nd green. Wasn’t too sure if he was still sleeping a Saturday rager off or had moved onto greener pastures but he was out there...
