If you work on an Army installation, odds are there's a Charley's Cheesesteaks in the Post Exchange (PX) Food Court. Sandwiches are made fresh to order but the menu is limited to steak or chicken sandwiches, albeit with a lot of varieties. The fries are usually good by themselves, but they are offered with various toppings like bacon and cheese.
It's easy to spend over $12 with a drink for a 2000 calorie meal, so I always get the $4.99 chicken Philly with fries (roughly 720 calories total).
With other PX fare usually relegated to Popeye's, Burger King, Taco Bell, Subway, Arby's, and Qdoba, along with one or two other chains, Charley's is a good option on occasion. During peak times, the wait can be a little long, but it's usually tolerable...

Read moreI ordered the Philly cheesesteak and gourmet fries (cheese and bacon), and was genuinely blown away. The steak was excellent and the fries were about as perfect as any fries I have ever had. I order the "regular" sized sandwich and it was pretty filling. The fries were a bit over the top, in hindsight.
