Los Alamos National Laboratory — Local services in Los Alamos

Great place to go if you are a trucker. I was unloaded in 15 minutes. Granted security is really tight, but they were courteous and helpful.

If you are curious about security as a trucker they have you open all compartments including hood. They take a respectable peak inside the truck as well ( I happen to keep my truck very clean ). They have a dog they walk around the truck as well. Once cleared you go down to the security post entrance and they give you directions on which way to go.

The National Laboratory is not the museum with the nuclear bomb. The museum you see on the pictures posted is the Bradbury Science museum up the road in town. The National Laboratory is an operational and secure facility in which you can travel through the road from one end to the other but you are not stopping in the laboratory unless you work there. What happens here changes the WORLD. Many here are saying there is nothing to do. I would disagree. There are a couple of museums and walking tours downtown. There will be more as the national park is built out. The hiking available in White Rock and Los Alamos is very good.
