Windsports Hang Gliding — Local services in Los Angeles

It was my first time doing tandem hang gliding ever this past October and I'm so glad I did it with Windsports Hang Gliding! I planned a trip to LA for my birthday and booked the reservation a week (or two) in advance. It was an easy process to register online. The day before the scheduled flight, Josh notified me via email that it had to be canceled due to the weather/wind conditions. Josh worked with me to reschedule the experience for me and my sister almost immediately, even as I was messaging him late in the evening. We were able to reschedule the session for the very next day or so, and it was an amazing experience! Josh, his colleagues, and his other students were kind and welcoming to me and my sister. We enjoyed the bumpy ride up the mountain, watched some safety videos, and had a practice run before setting off. Also, buying the gopro video is well worth it in my opinion. If you like riding roller coasters, and want to do something badass to brag about to your friends and family, I recommend booking with Windsports...

I had a really good experience with the mountain tandem lesson that I ended up booking another one a few days after my first! My instructor, Andy, had very good energy as well as everyone else, the second time I had brought my friend to watch the flight and he told me that he had so much fun even just watching because of how great the energy is amongst everyone at Windsports that he’s inspired and wants to hang glide one day too. Andy was also very accommodating and patient, the flight itself was amazing too, it truly feels like you’re a bird! I could go on flights again and again, both the flight experience and the people were amazing. My favorite part about the community at Windsports is that you can feel the true passion for hang gliding and it doesn’t feel like a business transaction but a real genuine experience, everyone there is focused on giving you the best experience because they truly love the sport, passion like that is rare to find...

Good: The instructors we flew were very experienced and nice. Great experience for first time gliders. We enjoyed the trip.

Bad: We only received partial videos of our flight, so we contacted the owner, Andy, for the rest of the videos. We emailed and left messages MANY TIMES (over a month) but never got any response from him. We are upset that we did not get the full extent of what we paid for and even more upset about his unprofessional choice to continuously ignore us. He picked up our call on the first ring the day we were flying, so we know he is intentionally avoiding us at this point. Very disappointed about the absence of communication to address...
