EDIT: Kelley’s response only adds to the disappointment. To deny her remarks to us that day is dismissive and, frankly, gaslighting. There is no "disconnect"—what she said was clear and condescending, implying we weren’t welcome unless we spent more money. Note that this business has since started charging a $20 fee for a “pumpkin pass” upon entry, confirming exactly how we felt about this business.
Attempting to erase our experience to protect her image does not change what happened. This interaction happened, and the way it’s being handled now only reinforces why we won’t be back.
After reading some of the negative reviews and this business's responses to those reviews across their many pages on Google Reviews and Yelp, you get a sense of the type of people they are...
We visited this pumpkin farm for the first time as a family, excited to enjoy the fall atmosphere and maybe make it a yearly tradition. Unfortunately, our experience was ruined by the owner, Kelley, who rudely and unabashedly told us that we should be buying their pumpkins and not just taking pictures--right in front of our young kids.
We had actually purchased food items and were planning to buy a pumpkin before leaving, but after that comment, we completely lost interest. Her behavior was unprofessional and came across as disrespectful.

We understand they’re a business and need to make a living, and we wanted to support that, but their true colors showed when they made the wrong assumptions about us. I suppose it goes both ways--we assumed this was a place about family fun, but it turned out to be a place that only values people for their money.
We won’t be back, as we won’t forget how we were treated. Hopefully, they learn to treat future guests with professionalism, grace, and the basic courtesy and respect...
Read moreHere's the thing about Patchen, CA. There's no town, no post office, nothing that I could tell that remotely resembled a once town. Across the road, where the town would of been, according to what I read and saw, is a Christmas Tree Farm. I took pics of the Historic Plaque and of the road sign which sports Mt. Charlie's name and the Old Santa Cruz Hwy. Now, if you want to see a wooded road filled with Redwoods and such, come take a slow peaceful drive and enjoy yourself as you...
Read moreThis is a relatively small but beautiful pumpkin patch farm to enjoy with the family (and pets too). There are many spots to take nice pictures and the backdrop of the mountains and Christmas trees make the experience more wonderful. They have food truck and gift shop to entertain, and the cost of parking can be used as credit for purchase of any pumpkin to make it...
