One star seems low and unfair, but the customer service by the owner or manager (Steve) at the Los Lunas location was really not acceptable and needs to change. We came in just to look and to be honest the produce is absolutely beautiful and very fairly priced. I wanted to get a huge pumpkin for my yard and I thought, wow this one is a great deal and even though I could get a similar pumpkin in Albuquerque why don't I try and support a local business... I ended up picking the largest pumpkin of the bunch and a pie pumpkin. Meanwhile my dad asked for a box and Steve said okay I'll try and look for one. We waited and waited and Steve continued to help other customers in the store and did not attempt to get us a box. So we asked him again, and he rudely responded when you've checked out I'll look for a box. During that waiting point I was trying to just fill time while we waited for a box and I was thinking of potentially purchasing the squash or mini pumpkins for my students, but I was a little upset with his attitude so I headed to the checkout and put back the squash I was going to purchase. Finally Steve came back and said we don't have any boxes, but we can sell you a box for $1.00. Seriously, is that a real thing? We are buying almost $10 in pumpkins and you can't just give us a box? I could have drove to a local store and found one in the dumpster for free, but since my dad knew we had another 35 miles to drive back home he had me buy the box so the pumpkin wouldn't break in the back of the truck. I want to mention that the other staff members were friendly and kind, but Steve needs to work on his customer service skills. We own a business and we would never treat customers like that! I understand you guys were a little busy, but come on this is not acceptable. We came out of our way to shop at your market and honestly with the treatment we received we should have left and not bought anything. I am sad to say we won't ever be back here again. There are many other local businesses in the surrounding areas that would be appreciative to receive...
Read moreWe look forward to the farm stand opening every year! We stock up on green chile (roasted on-site, by skilled roasters, they make peeling a breeze), dried red chile pods, and canning tomatoes to last us through the year. The canning tomatoes are honestly delicious enough to eat fresh, so quite a few never make it into our jars. And the price is great!
During the season, we come at least weekly for the melons. I'd never had watermelons this good! And we didn't think we liked cantaloupe, but yours are so good that we're converted.
Because the produce is so good, we would come here even if you all were mean, haha. But that couldn't be further from the truth. Everyone at the farm stand is friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. Our children ask to go to the farm stand more than any other store, not exaggerating. 😂
Please keep doing what you all are doing! You're such a great resource for...
Read more0 not 1 star. Purchase a sack of red chili roasted and when I got home I saw that the red chili was all burned. I had to throw alot of chili. I called Snake Ranch Farm and the owner told me to take it back so he could assess my concerns. I know what the out come would be, there is nothing they can do. Last year I purchase a sack of dry red chili pods when I cleaned the entire sack was rotten I took it back I was told there is nothing they could do for me. I will not waste my money. I will go to Albuquerque and purchase my chili from Rosales Produce. I know you are probably saying why didn't you go to Rosales Produce due to the hot summer they lost alot of plants and they don't have red chili. Rosales Produce puts much more chili in there sacks. I wasted $48 dollars plus change we all need to budget our money now a days but I sure did not get my money worth today at...
