Food Lion — Local services in Louisa

Very helpful staff so nice as I’m not local but visiting family temporarily. Wonderful products very clean well organized. It is a grocery store a little off the grid but customer service is excellent. My only complaint or concern. How about opportunity would be to say if you are employee owned, I would be ashamed if I were local citizen, working locally and saying I’m charging you often double to over the prices for your food market and ripping off my local neighbors. That’s a big complaint. That’s why I don’t shop there anymore and often people just go to Charlottesville and the local markets and the local farmers and not the big Food Lion corporate even though it’s “ employed“. That your downfall will be. Great customer service excellent. Prices, horrifically unaffordable. BTW, the employee should all receive a good raise and benefits. They worked their butts off. Corporate needs to come down. It’s high horse or fall off and realize what it’s like to work a jobunder the dirt just to get yourself above ground level. This is our towns local Food Lion, I would love to give it more stars, but it's only ever been a 3 star. The store is clean and typically well stocked, but the employees are revolving and management doesn't seem proactive in any way. The meat/deli/bakery Dept is always out of stock on things and if you ask the employees back there for help or to get you meat or try to order a cake , they act like you are the biggest bother and inconvenience. We have got large orders of chicken for events here twice now and both times have been horrible experiences, the first time they never made our order and told us we ordered from the wrong food lion, the second time the chicken was so dry it was like eating a Popeye's biscuit with no water. Overall it's a clean and stocked store with a few good employees,but management and the disgruntled employees...

The worse Food Lion I've been to! It was filthy! The shelves were dirty. Never get any help locating items. The most bizarre set up I've ever seen as a grocery store and that's saying ALOT Since I have traveled through and stayed in 41 states! The only employees I saw doing their jobs besides the sweet lovely young lady at the register, the lady at the deli and the buggy attendant! Oh, another young lady shopping for customers groceries. I couldn't believe such a VERY HIGH END little town such as Louisa, Va where the taxes are higher than a $2 hookers mini skirt accept the fact they got the worse grocery store probably within a hundred mile or MORE radius! Do BETTER FOOD...
