Pizza Hut — Restaurant in Louisa

This place is a blast from the past and may become a historical artifact in the next 10 years. A true sit down Pizza Hut. That doesn't look like its owners have given up, or the town in which it lives in has ignored it.

Its built in that traditional Pizza Hut style, the interior decor looks right out of the 1980's with a nod to modern times with 4 big flat screen TV's in the each corner. But the two most important things. Yes, the Soda still comes in the red cups, and yes, they do still have Salads.

Coming in on a Saturday afternoon, there were two children's Pizza Parties in progress. The waitress was apologetic about it saying "There will be a bit of a wait, because we got two huge orders ahead of yours". In this context a "bit of a wait" was just 20 minutes. Which I suppose would be a bit much for people used to the usual ghost town that is a Pizza Hut. Not the case here. On top of the two pizza parties, at least half the booths in the shop were also in use.

I found out why when the Pizza's came out. The hand tossed was presented on a full Pizza paddle, and while it had the standard ingredients you expect from Pizza Hut, there was a level of...care...in how the toppings were applied. There was no skimping here. Every slice had a generous amount and the pizza itself was cooked perfectly. I was instantly transported back almost 30 years to being a kid at similar locations before they all closed. The store was also clean and had some of the local decorations you expect from a staff that genuinely cares about their store.

Located right off Route 33 in Louisa (Staples Mill Road, for downtown Richmonders) this location is worth the drive if you want to recapture a bit of nostalgia. With some good...

We drove all the way from Hanover Virginia to go here. Because most of the Pizza huts in our area have closed down. And this is something that we used to do as a family all the time. So we wanted to make the trip to go to this Pizza Hut.. The service was underwhelming.. We first for looking at a pizza that we wanted to order and you can tell the waitress didn't really want to deal with it cuz she said it took really long to make... And we put our order in. And we're delivered the wrong food.. at first and then had to wait for our second order.. well waiting for that you could just look at the floor was dirty.. The staff looked worn out and I don't want to say dirty but. Just looked completely worn out and we're making excuses for doing things wrong together.... Food came out finally and it was good. Had a hard time getting refills undrinks. And then when it came to getting to go boxes we were giving these little tiny boxes that held like two slices of pizza. When we had almost two full pizzas left and breadsticks. So I had to pack up all of my stuff but you're like nine mini boxes. Which was ridiculous.when my son asked if these are the only boxes they had the waitress did not answer... What you know they have to cuz if they're doing pick up orders they have big pizza boxes. . Yes the only thing saved in this place was the actual food whoever was cooking the food this is one of the best pan pizzas I've ever had from Pizza Hut. In any of its locations.. but other than that the atmosphere in the waitresses were not the reason. We love the old style atmosphere it's great but please keep it clean.. rappers all over the floor trash on the floor in the bathrooms were...

We were sat pretty quickly so waiting to be seated was no issue. However after we placed our order of wings, one salad and a pizza we waited awhile. I was pretty much done with my sweet tea before any food hit the table. A waitress who wasn’t ours brought out the pizza and we were confused because our wings or salad were suppose to come out before that so I had to ask the lady about that. Next thing we know our waitress hurry’s to the back to figure out what happen but it seemed as if none of that was ever even entered. I could only eat my pizza with a fork all the toppings fell right off my husband was only able to finish his salad. When our pizza hit the table the second waitress asked if I wanted a refill of sweet.....it never came. I was expecting maybe a apology at payment time maybe even something discounted at the end of the whole thing but no we stayed 30 something dollars for food that came out in the wrong order and for food that was late getting to the table. I highly do not recommend this location. To top it all off the waitress’ and what I’m guessing is the manager just sat at a booth most of the time not checking on any customers. We witness a customer actually walk up to where the waitress’ walk in and out the kitchen and she had to walk her own food to her table...I mean come on no customer should have to walk up to...
