I purchased a new budget TCL brand TV in September of 2018. In less than 2 months, the circuit board required to provide the TV's back-light died. While still covered under the manufacturer warranty, we no longer had our proof of purchase (lesson learned) to take that route and based on the feedback from the internet, it sounds like we dodged a bullet anyway. We traveled 30+ minutes to bring our TV down to Cardinal Electronic on a Tuesday, we handed over $25 diagnoses fee and left the TV with them over night. The next day, they contacted us to advise of the issue that occurred within the hardware and also the price of the part, along with their labor. We agreed to the fee, which was reasonable. It was a little under half the cost of the TV itself, which I expected given as it's a budget branded TV. We decided to proceed and the TV was functional the very next day. It looks just like it did when we opened it for the first time. They guarantee their service for 60 days after and they were great at communicating with us. It was a far sooner turnaround than I ever expected (as they had the part on-hand). Great service, although the labor could be hit and miss depending on if you believe your TV is worth saving. Ours was, but just barely.

Randy was so kind to take the time to look over the control panel of my washing machine. He tested what he could and asked me plenty of questions trying to troubleshoot the issue- but he admitted that his specialty was more electronics rather than appliances, and couldn’t confidently fix it for me. However, he continued to try to help- taking the time to search online and advise me about where I could purchase a used control board to replace the old one on my own.
