Will never go back again. They stack tee times so close together you are literally on top of each other. Totally unreasonable to make tee times so close that you hit into the group in front of you and the group behind is always waiting or hitting in to you. Some of the rudest golfers I have ever experienced! On out tee time there was already someone waiting to hit behind us. We decided to be polite and let them go first. A few holes later the group behind us complained to management, not us, and we let them play through. Then we started playing as a scramble. The group behind is constantly kept hitting into our playing range. At one point we couldn't see the next hole and thought it was clear, but wasn't. We accidentally landed on their green while they were still there. As we approached, they threw all of our golf balls into the woods. The course was littered with both fresh and very old beer bottles. Staff was stoic and looked uninterested in doing their job. We NEVER have these issues at Fuzzy Zoeller Golf course. I guess you get what you pay for and the patrons and staff made this place a slum. One senior player in our group even bowed out at the 9th hole trying to speed things up. This was NOT a relaxing or enjoyable experience but a waste of money and time. We will...
Read moreI've played this course only in the cooler months when the zoysia goes dormant ("reverse" yellow fairways). It's a fun, challenging course (7th toughest in KY per their website) that is quite a bargain during weekdays in the winter. The staff is very welcoming. The greens may be a bit less smooth than normal, but it's still worth the effort when you're wanting to get out and play. The trees and water hazards (ponds and creeks) add to demands on your shot shape. The blue tees will challenge most golfers, and the whites are no give away. Hole #8 from the blue tees is my favorite from the middle of the pond. #16 is probably my 2nd favorite. The rolling terrain makes for an enjoyable walk if you're so inclined. There are a few blind shots on some holes, so beware of your fellow golfers being hidden in a dale or two. 3:45 for a relaxed round got us 18 starting ~1:45. Enjoy!
Update: I finally got to play in the warmer window, but it was wet! Stormy actually. The rates are really good. Sr walking
Read moreSome of y'all in the reviews are spoiled when it comes to courses, and it shows 🫢 I put off coming to this course for so long because of these comments, but finally bit the bullet this weekend and decided to form my own opinion since y'all said Sun Valley was so bad, and it's not! Anyway, if you don't come here expecting Valhalla fairways and greens, and know full well this is a PUBLIC COURSE, it's totally fine. Fun even. It's challenging, but not so much that a beginner can't navigate. Pace of play and openness was fantastic! So, as a matter of fact, y'all stay away so I can KEEP having the place to myself 😂 Could the greens use a little love? Sure. Pretty much all of them can if it's not a well-maintained country club/private course; but they weren't so bad they stopped me from playing a decent round. Stop blaming your poor game on these courses in...
