Nice slopes, too icy, lesson was a waste of time.

Came here in December with friends. I have nearly zero skiing experience (I did a beginner lesson 5 years ago), so I decided to take a beginner lesson and then get on greens. I expected the lesson would give me more understanding of proper technique than trying to figure it out on my own and that instructors would answer my questions and point out my mistaked (which was my experience 5 years ago). I was wrong.

I got assigned to a group consisting of 4 kids (5-7 years old), their parent and me. There were 2 instructors (I assume the second one was a trainee). Instructors focused completely on kids and built the lesson around them. Instead of learning the details of how to ski my group spent a lot of time listening to kids being excited about putting on a boot or making a pizza with their skis and the instructor cheering for them. I mean, I'm happy for kids having a great time, but for me being assigned to this group was a waste of my time.

I tried asking specific questions about posture, making turns, stopping, getting up, feeling of the boot fitting, etc. but the primary instructor was focused on kids only and the secondary had very vague answers.

One typical example – the instructor spent quite some time asking our group “what’s the most important thing when you ski?” I hoped we’d finally get some useful information about technique, but after forcing each member of the group to give the answer, the instructor finally said “the most important thing is to have your smile on”.

After the lesson I took 5-10 rides through the school’s area, which was too short to get an actual practice. There was no option to get higher in the beginners area (it seems like there was a second conveyor belt lift but it wasn't working). So I took a chair lift to Paradise thinking "what could possibly go wrong -- I got all training I could in scope of that lesson".

Following the instructor’s advice, I sure smiled a lot while struggling on the green after the lesson because instructors gave me zero useful information. It took me a while to get down as I was unable to make turns on steeper slope. I’m still the same inexperienced newbie, this lesson was a waste of time.

I’ll try to finish this review with something good: there were almost no lines for rental pickup, staff at the bar was nice, slopes are beautiful (although they got really icy by the...

Considering the overall amount of snow, skiing conditions were good this weekend. Check in was done outside as you came in and was easy. Ski rentals went quickly. The area doesn't have a lot of food choices so we ate on the mountain. Prices were a little high but the convenience made up for it. Keep in mind they have two places to start your ski day. If you are a beginner, make sure you find your way to the bottom of the mountain to start off. Also, if you are heading to the bunny slope on the east side, you have to walk there, so don't bother getting into your skis right away. We rented skis at the bottom and returned them at the top, but for some reason they discourage it, so try to return it where you got it. Be safe and wear...

First time visit. Overall ok experience. Bought online tickets for cheaper price however it did not speed up check in process. Had to register each person with name address telephone email etc. I could have done all this when buying online. Then had to go over same info when picking up lift tickets. People who just walked in got through faster. Once fitted we waited for lessons. Very busy and it is not first in first out. You need to flag down their people to tell them we are for lessons, but the person you tell then leave with other groups as instructors and you have to tell another person we are here for lessons. We had a couple of group get on the snow before us. Once in everything was better. Grounds were good. Food...

I fell a lot. Great learning experience. Great, relatively long trails for the area. Even after several hours, the green trails still had powdered snow in some areas. Covid restrictions: It is highly recommended to purchase tickets in advance. We went on a Sunday and it was sold out before noon. Luckily, we bought tickets online. No indoor seating, but there are plenty of outdoor tables and chairs, along with food trucks. You must wear a mask in all common areas and ski lifts, but since it's cold, it isn't hard to do. Would love to go back and fall some more!

Great, local place for boarding and skiing. Good runs, fast lifts (6 and 4-seaters). Lodges allow first come, first serve for tables allowing people to keep their bags at tables all day. That makes it tough to find seats. Would be easier if that was not allowed or if there was some other provision on keeping people’s bags safely elsewhere. Bathrooms and Valley lodge are not the best but they work. Most of the time is spent outdoors so that’s where the awesomeness is at.
