Please stop contacting us about my review. We had a one-star experience and as a result we will never be back. No amount of free rooms you offer us will change our experience or entice us to come back.
Bad experience throughout our whole time there. They botched our booking for a private session and had already booked someone else for the session we called ahead for.
The room was malfunctioning and the final clue to win fell out on its own within the first 5 minutes. When we asked them to reset the room, they were annoyed and told us to just play on and pretend nothing had happened. They just reset the time and blamed the Chinese restaurant next door for some reason. The worst part was our room attendant kept giving us clues. We didn’t have a chance to figure anything out because anytime it looked like we were stuck for one minute, they would just give us clues to solve it. We didn’t get to solve anything, they just walked us through and it felt like we were just following commands. I’ve been to many escape rooms, and this was by far the worst experience and it just kept getting worse til the end.
Thanks for your reply. I’m sure it was a one off experience but I’m just recounting my personal experience. Accidents happen, things might go out of order. But our problem was with your staff who were unapologetic and unwilling to correct anything. We didn’t ask for a free room. We simply asked that they take the time to reset the room after a technical difficulty so we can do the room for real instead of pretending things were out of order. Instead they just said we’ll be fine and walked us through the entire thing. It felt rushed like they wanted us out of there to accommodate whoever...
Read moreI got to do 2 Escape Rooms at Escape Cape May today with my in law siblings! It was a spur of the moment decision and we do a lot of escape rooms! Basically everywhere we visit we do a room. Escape Cape May's main reception area is pretty nice. Its half a paint studio half an escape room. The main reception area did not flow well into the side with the Escape Rooms. However everything else was great. Their opening video was cheesy but awesome. It made me laugh quite a few times. Escape Cape May did a great job with their rooms. We first did Millie's Beach Condo Escape. My group had a few stumps here and there but we did not ask for many clues because we were stubborn. A few locks were not properly reset so we ran across 2 opened locks which was a bonus for the group. We weren't mad or upset because we know there is human error and I'm sure its easily missed and hard to reset escape rooms. But the end goal was fun and we even got to leave with a souvineer!! The second room we did was the High Roller one. That room was just okay. It seemed a little harder than Millie's but we still had a blast. My 11 yr old nephew was killing all the clues! The props are fun and I would definitely come back and try the last room I was not able to do today. I believe Richard was our game master and he was super nice and helpful! & I want to thank the owner, Brad, for an...
Read moreI’ve done two games here and they’ve both been fun, with the airport murder mystery game being the most recent. The puzzles were a bit old school but not in a bad way, just an older, more analog, style of gameplay. We genuinely had a lot of fun with this room and were talking about it for hours afterwards! We liked it better than the top chef room. What I have an issue with seems to be the staffing. They seem to be very understaffed. My group and I were stumped on a puzzle and asked for a clue via walkie talkie, which we then had to tell our game “master” where we were in the game. She wound up giving us a clue for something we hadn’t even gotten to yet. When we told her we weren’t there yet, she gave us a clue about something we already knew about that puzzle. Out of frustration, we didn’t ask again (figured it out eventually) and ended up losing the game. We were on the last puzzle, so if we had that 5/7 minutes back, I think we would’ve won. For nearly $100 for 3 of us (even though this is on the more affordable end of escape games) I would expect to get adequate help when we ask for it, and not have to explain where I am in the game. It really seemed like it was just the one girl working there that day, which sucks. We want to come back for a couple other games, but I really hope they get more staff, especially with the summer...
