I stopped at KK Collectibles at 527 East Davis Street, in Luling, Texas. This store is new to me, but when I opened the door, I can see I'm going to ENJOY this shop very much! It has individual booths of resale items, old and new. I LOVE this type of store and my house reflects it. I start on the left side and wandered in and out looking at glassware. At one booth there are Precious Moments Figurines, etc. At another I spied 2 Mikasa tall mugs. The design on each of them have a teddy bear pulling a boy mouse because he has a blue t- shirt and blue roller skates and behind him is a girl mouse, who is holding onto his tail, and she's wearing a pink t- shirt and pink roller skates. Such a cute scene ! And each are selling for $1.00 each. I take both of them. In the center aisle are coins. There are booths all over the store with all sorts of hidden gems. In the front on the right side are baskets of old- fashioned wrapped candies for sale. I'm definitely coming back here, because I love this type of store. I think of them as a socioeconomic one, as it shows what people bought in their day, what may have been popular then. And in a way, these shops are a historic museum on what people liked in their time. I do know that in my Mom's time, 1920's , 1930's, pieces of Carnival Glass, were given away at the movie theaters. And this is why I love going to resale shops as I can see how other people lived, their likes, what was popular then, like cookie jars. KK Collectibles is a hidden gem. I do hope you come over and find...
Read moreKK’s Antiques & Candy is a clean, well-organized shop with a mix of glassware, pottery, kitchen collectibles, and vintage odds and ends. The shop also has a fun candy counter that makes it feel a little more approachable compared to the denser antique malls in town. Vinyl lovers will appreciate the bins of old records, and there are plenty of small treasures for decorators or casual browsers.
As a comic book collector, though, I didn’t come across any comics or related memorabilia, so it wasn’t a great stop for my collecting focus. That said, if you’re into dishware, glass, jewelry, or browsing vintage records, you’ll probably find something that catches your eye.
Overall, it’s a solid antique stop with a friendly atmosphere, but not a destination if you’re hunting for...
Read moreI highly recommend KK's Antiques in Luling. My partner and I visit whenever we're in the area. This business has become our preferred destination.
The owners are extremely welcoming. Recently, we visited to donate several items. Please note they do accept donations but not bulky merchandise. I suggest contacting them in advance to confirm what items they do take.
What differentiates KK's Antiques is that they are an independent, non corporate business. Their selection of sweets, particularly their taffy, offers excellent value. They will soon be expanding their sweet stuff, so it's worth checking back every once in a while for new additions, and who knows? Maybe you’ll find something you want to buy,...
