Robeson Community College — Local services in Lumberton

As a normal student coming from high school, this school is probably not too bad but, as a veteran, I have not had a good experience and only three weeks into the semester. They know I'm a veteran but they don't have me in their system as a veteran so I've been dropped from my classes twice while waiting on my GI Bill to kick in. They are suppose to wait and eventually they'll get their money from the VA. I was kicked out of my classes 5 days before the semester started. They didn't call or email me about it. I received a letter in the mail the day before school started and I had to call them to get them to fix it. Lucky, I got back in all of my original classes. Then, about four days into the semester, it happened again. This stopped me from being able to do any online work for the whole weekend. They had forgotten to put me in the system as veteran again. And if that wasn't bad enough, they charged the VA for instate tuition but they charged me out-of-state tuition. That's a difference of about $2,000 that I'll have to pay if this doesn't get fixed. I'm in the process of getting that fixed mid-semester when I should be studying. I feel a lot of this is due to a lack of communication between offices at the school. They fail to communicate with me and with each other. But as I said earlier, as a normal person, you probably wouldn't have so many problems but vets, I'd recommend going...

If you're thinking about the nursing program, I recommend talking to some of the current students to hear the truth. The instructors won't give a true picture, probably because they are the ones creating the horrible learning environment. A couple of the teachers care more about establishing their dominance than mentoring and teaching students. If you do register in the program, don't speak up against the nursing program staff or they'll retaliate, and don't expect the cowardly dean to...

I honestly can't wait to transfer . I absolutely hate Robeson Community College. They have some unprofessional staff and instructors and the teachers are sorry. They don't help you with any work or questions and give you nothing but busy work. The Nursing Program acts like its got University standards. Like really ? This is a community college not a University. I can't stand going to this college. They honestly don't even deserve 1 star...
