The Meat Store — Local services in Lumberton

I absolutely love this place . We come from an hour away to come here! Always the best prices and meat. I will add though we cane on a Saturday 2 weeks ago and agoan , come from an hour away. We worked that day and got there at 520, that wpuld have been just enough time for us to stock up on our usual items and check out. There was a worker in there that I don't see often but have seen. The doors were locked , the sign said OPEN and I knocked to get her attention, she came to the doors I felt so relieved but she said "were closed" I showed here through the glass door she refused to open - it says 530 and we came from an hour away... she said no, sorry we close at 5, I showed her the sign says open even , she then flipped it and said no we close at 5 , sorry . I was not happy especially as often as we frequent there and have a large family so spend no less that $100 when there but we can always get the items quick. We know exactly what we want and need. We will be back but this was not ok. Very rude. We are small business owners as well and would NEVER do that to our clients...

We went here for the first time last month and were very happy with the amount of meat we were able to get for our money. The only issue we have with this store is some products are way past their sell by date (we bought 4 pork loins without checking dates and they expired a few months ago so I am afraid to use them) and the great priced meats in the cases are closed boxes so you can't see what is inside until you get home and then you may find that the cut is worse then you expected. However, if you stop and think about how little you paid you will see that a little creativity will feed your family well on a shoestring budget thanks to the meat store. I will definitely shop there...

I had to give this "Meat market" at least 1 star to comment, otherwise they wouldn't a star at all. My family and I run a catering service and decided to give this place a try based on the location. This was our first time using this location. We brought 3 boxes of chicken, as well some non perishable items. We looked at the top of the chicken while in the store, when we got home to do further investigation we found the meat was NO GOOD and seems to have been beat up by the machine from the factory and was extremely bruised.
