Pet Angel Memorial – Lack of Compassion and Attention to Detail My experience with Pet Angel Memorial has been deeply upsetting during one of the most painful times of my life. On May 29, my beloved dog Shilo was euthanized at Douglasville Veterinary Hospital. Pet Angel Memorial handled her cremation. When I picked up her remains on June 9, I was heartbroken to find that her name was spelled incorrectly on everything—her paw print, urn, and cremation certificate. I was told the paw print could not be corrected, but the urn and certificate would be fixed. On Monday, June 16, I picked up the “corrected” urn and certificate—only to find the certificate was still incorrect. It is now June 19, and I have finally received the corrected certificate. But the repeated errors and lack of care have made this loss even harder to bear. This kind of carelessness and lack of compassion is unacceptable, especially when families are grieving. Below are photos showing the incorrect spelling on the original items. Update update update !! Thank you for reaching out. However, I’m no longer interested in having Shilo’s paw print corrected. After the repeated mistakes with her name and the overall lack of care shown throughout this process, I’ve lost trust in your ability to handle anything involving her memory. These errors have only added to the pain of losing her, and I can’t risk any further disappointment. At this point, I would prefer to honor Shilo privately, without any additional involvement.

Beware to anyone using this company. I was curious and opened the box of my cat's remains. I found a lot of debris mixed in; pieces of metal, wood, twigs, artificial moss, and others. I toured the facility with a friend before I reached out the owners to see the process. I called them the next day. The owners had no logical explanation for what happened. They said one of the pieces could be from a broom that is used to sweep the chambers. I don't see how that could happen, because once the remains are swept from the chambers they are pulverized. There should not be any items like the ones I found. My cat's remains were put in a sandwich bag placed in a wooden box. When I opened the box all the twigs and other debris were very visible. I have reached out to several companies that supply brooms for crematories and the metal piece was not a match. The company offered me a refund, and I met with Denise Trout. She didn't acknowledge that she had met me previously when doing a tour even though she and her husband were very weary of the tour. They thought we were spying from another company. Denise was very insistent on keeping the items I found in the remains. She asked 7 times during our quick meeting. It was very uncomfortable.

Didn't return my dog's ashes when they said they would. I got him back on Monday afternoon and they had said Friday evening. They put him in the wrong box, as I had selected a carved one. The paw print on the death certificate is horribly smudged which is RIDICULOUS as they had his front feet delivered severed from his body. The box they.*Did* give me is a factory second. The sliding top has the finish marred. Yes, I'm grieving, but I'm totally pissed right now. I just lost my 12 yr old seizure-alert service dog and this level of service just inexcusable. Now I'm wondering if this is *just* my dog's ashes or a scoop out of a combination of dogs. Who could possibly get so many things wrong if they actually pay attention to what they're doing??

Be very careful with this company, I do not recommend them at all, they are all about the money. I had taken my dog to them, and over the phone when I asked if I could watch my dog go into the machine, the owner told me that they were not doing viewings because of Covid, but went on to tell me that she could lift up the garage door, and allow me to walk back there with her husband just for a second and once the dog goes in to the fire I would have to leave. I appreciated that, but when I was presented with an itemized bill after I had already paid, she had charged me an additional 159 on top of the 375 dollar cremation charge for that one minute look. She never told me there was a charge until after the fact, for that 2 second walk. Disgusting. I had spent over 500 dollars with them, on urn, paw prints, and other keepsake stuff, like keychains etc. I disputed this extra charge and her and her husband joined forces and try to tell me that I was told and with loosing my dog I must of forgotten. I called the morning of, literally two hours before I took the dog and she was billing my credit card before I left the house. How dare they try and get your money upfront, what happens if I did not make it, it’s not like a standing apt with cancellations fees, I just called at 9am to agree to bring the dog in at 11. Never ever would I give them any business and would never recommend them, they do not give a toss about you or your pet, they just care about getting as much money out of you as possible, as soon as possible. Never give your credit card to this women or business over the phone. They take advantage of you in a sad situation, but karma will take care of them, I just pray for them, they will...

It was a last minute change from another well known, rather expensive pet cremation company. My experience with the other was unnerving, asking if I wanted to do a number or spell out "once", what!?. I did not want to speak over the phone about an engraving. The guy who answered the phone was completely lost. Not something I wanted on my mind as I had an appointment to euthanize my baby that afternoon. They did not confirm with my vet the time, as they closed early that day, and were 20 minutes past the pick up time with no communication, once on the phone with my husband the driver argued about the work order. Which was probably not his fault, but unprofessional, and I wasn't too keen on this man handling my dog if he was irritated. Pets in Peace came last minute, picked up my girl. Fred was very kind and helpful. He let me know that his company only does single cremations, as this was an advertisement from the last company, which is why I was willing to pay more. I told him what I wanted from the other company, he found them, started an account with them, just so I could get the urn I wanted. I sent him a very detailed description of what I wanted engraved. Fred communicated regularly about the status of everything. He sent a draft for me to approve. As well as digital copies of the nose and paw print, as I wanted to get a tattoo of my dogs paw print. It took a little while to get finished, but it was a special order, I knew that going in, and Fred did make me aware of the time frame. As soon as it was ready he delivered it to my vet. It is absolutely gorgeous. My vet even said it's the most elaborate one he has seen. Thanks pets in...

On January 1, 2019, I lost my beautiful, loving, loyal, friendly, affectionate ROYAL. ROYAL had been apart of my family for almost 12 years. I was completely devestated and had no clue how to proceed. I called Pets In Peace and Fred answered the phone on the 2nd ring. (On a holiday) After answering the phone he talked with me for 30 min offering his condolences for the loss of my dear ROYAL. Fred arrived in a timely manner to transport ROYAL to the crematory. Upon arrival he treated ROYAL with dignity and respect. Fred also explained the entire cremation process to me and educated me on the other services that were offered. Royal’s ashes were returned to me on Thursday, January 3, 2019 as promised. The ashes were personally delivered to me at my door step; along with a clay paw print, hair clippings, and a beautiful poem about the Rainbow Bridge. Fred was not the person to deliver the ashes, however the person that delivered the ashes was also very nice and friendly; offering his condolences as well for my loss. After the deliver of the ashes I called and talked with Fred’s wife; she was also very sweet and offered her condolences as well. I talked with her several minutes and she was very patient with answering all of my questions in regards to ROYAL. Pets In Peace also provided a memorial page on their website in honor of ROYAL. I was extremely satisfied with the service that was provided by Pets In Peace. The prices were extremely reasonable and the customer service was awesome. Pets In Peace exceeded my expectations. I will miss ROYAL until I see him again waiting for me at the Rainbow Bridge. Thanks so much...
