Ashbury Community Thrift Store is a 501-(c)(3) nonprofit business that supports many needy organizations in the local community. The people that work there are volunteers and they are often looking for people to volunteer working in the store. The volunteers are friendly and polite and knowledgeable about the items and prices in the store.
This is my wife's favorite place to shop above all of the commercial businesses. Ashbury has a high turn over of their inventory so if you don't find what you looking for keep going back because they are always adding to the current inventory. Although my wife shops there frequently, I will occasionally accompany to carry her great finds and shop for my self.
Ashbury is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10am - 6pm. Wednesday from 10am -5pm. And Saturday from 10am- 4pm. They are closed on Sundays.
Most items, especially clothing items are under $5. Shirts, dresses, shorts and pants are mostly only $2. They have a wide variety of Women's clothing which my wife loves and I like because it saves us a lot of money. Clothing items are in excellent condition, some are new. There is also a large amount of children's and infant clothing as well as toys. There is a smaller more limited amount of men's clothing but due to the shopping market the supply is adequate for the demand.
There is a large section for books, home wares, luggage and miscellaneous items. My wife loves to shop her because of the high inventory turn over and the various items that makes it a great shopping experience for everyone. They often have free French loaves of breads and pastries that is first come first served.

Read moreI believe a thrift store should be very inexpensive. Asbury thinks more of themsevles than the people in need. Also, the employees have poor attitudes and I have had many bad experiences there. The prices are VERY high and there is no love for others and the community in the tone of those working there to help others. I've also been humiliated once by one employee holding a particular very nice item for my 5 yr old to see if it worked (while he stood beside me) and another employee, as we wondered around waiting for the battery to charge SOLD it to another. We discussed for a moment and they let the other customer have it as I cried, literally in front of many with my very disappointed son standing next to me. NO! I do not recommend this place. There are many more available that are cheaper and more friendly atmosphere.i just right about the store I’m reading another interview from another woman who is live store trying to be embarrassing by another employee working in the store where is church community looking for this kind of employee a pain him look like I don’t know how...
Read moreIf I could give a zero I would. Horrible experience shopping there. I was waiting in line for almost 10 minutes when the ln lady in front of me had to go grab something else in the store, after a while the cashier started to clear out the order, while clearing the order a couple walks up to the register and cuts the line to ask about about a item they want to purchase and questioned the price. The cashier then ask the couple if they would like to go ahead and pay for the item, I then said excuse me I was waiting in line along with 3 other people and the cashier continued to let them cut the line and pay for their items. The cashier was totally unprofessional and I believe race played a factor in the decision she made. Please believe if it was the other way around I would have been told to get in line, there are people that's been waiting to check out. Totally unprofessional and will not spend my money there again. I normally go every weekend and buy something but if this is how they will continue to let customers be treated, I'll spend my...
