I mailed an iPhone6S Plus to them for repair. During our replacement of the digitizer, one of my techs identified we had the wrong part, and proceeded with reinstalling the broken, albeit working original digitizer. With the battery disconnected on the phone, we plugged the original back into the board and it immediately began to smoke. Confused and frustrated with out unfortunate experience we began researching the problem online. Seems the 6S Plus has these kinds of issues with their screens. Backlights burning out and weird problems with electricity.
During our research we found Powerbook Medic. They offered the service to replace bad board components. We mailed it to them. We waited about 2-3 weeks, but they were able to order replacement parts, and solder them on. They tested and confirmed the correct voltage was reaching the correct parts, however, the device still didn't turn on.
They returned the device to us for the cost of shipping. No diagnostic fee was charged in our instance. I felt that was generous of them, and decided on my own accord to publish this experience, and my satisfaction from the overall transaction. That was good business, and they did go above and beyond. I would have only given 3-4 stars due to the delays in communication. But in owning my own business, things get crazy and more than a reasonable amount of times we too have failed to communicate with clients constantly over the course of a repair.
I would send my devices to them again and would recommend Powerbook Medic as a trustworthy service provider.
On another note: I read the other reviews on google about them and want to cast some doubt on the validity of the negative reviews. After reading them, they all feel like disgruntled customers who wanted something for nothing. Providing their own parts, doing the install themselves, then bashing Powerbook Medic for the problems... that invalidates those reviews in my eyes. Providing wrong shipping address? Complaining about aftermarket parts when dealing with APPLE?? Really??? Have you ever TRIED getting original parts from apple? They OUTRIGHT refuse to sell you parts unless your under warranty, then ONLY will mail them to one of a handful certified repair centers which charge 250$ an hour to repair your product. You know why people dont call apple care? Because its cheaper to buy another... you know why Apple does that? Because they make their money off selling you NEW products, not allowing you to repair the old ones ensures more REVENUE for Apple.
Dont bash the tech for finding you a replacement aftermarket part... its Apples fault there are no originals available. at any...

I have been going back and forth with Powerbookmedic for the last 30 days in an effort to get the right screen on my Macbook Pro 17in. They advertised the screen with the original part number on it and described it as a "matte finish," which is what I needed as a Photographer to eliminate glare.
The part shipped out and I paid a technician to replace it. After the repair was done, we both realized that Powerbookmedic sent a glossy screen. This is a huge deal to me because of using my computer to edit photos.
The company sent me another screen that was a knock off matte screen and very low quality. When I spoke with the customer service manager, he insisted that they sent the proper screen. I, on the other hand, insisted that he check with his Samsung representative to be sure. After another 1/2 hour phone call, he agreed to call me back to confirm.
The same week, a voicemail was left for me saying that their Samsung Representative was having similar issues with the same part number/screen, other customers were not satisfied with it. I sent the screen back and waited for the proper one to arrive. When it did, my tech refused to do the work because of how difficult it was to do the repair in the first place. This leaves me with the wrong screen and a bad taste in my mouth for the situation was dealt with.
I called one last time today after I was charged to print off a return label at the UPS Store, where I was starting to become a regular. I felt like this was the last straw. On this call, I asked for the Customer Service Manager and was given the Operations Manager after a 10 minute hold. I asked him how he could make the situation right. He replied that they had done what they could and the rest was my fault.
I understand that mistakes happen. However, there wasn't a solution offered other than "trying" to get it right over and over. 30 days ago, I should have received the correct screen from this company as advertised. Further, that screen should be on my computer instead of the one I'm looking at right now. A technician should be able to trust in their research of part descriptions and numbers. When the film was removed from the screen, we realized that this company is misrepresenting third party screens because of the low supply and the high demand for them. Simply sending the appropriate screen the 3rd time doesn't solve the situation.
Use these guys as a last resort and don't expect anything different. I'll be contacting the Better Business Bureau until this matter...
Read moreI've recently bought a Samsung Galaxy A20 and first off, judging by the title of the phone where it says scratches/burn. I was kinda worried about what will it look like or will it be like it says in the picture. Fast forward 3 days later, it arrived. I was excited to see it and once I opened it, the phone was greatly wrapped and secured. Once I opened the plastic bag that the phone came in, The phone looked as they just bought a new phone and sent it. But I do see some dirt and I didn't see no signs of ware and tare on the device. As a tester, I tested everything and everything went through as normal even fingerprint scanner, nfc, wifi, cellular, sim card/slot, and more. There weren't no burn marks however, I did see this one tiny barely seen scratch on the top of the device. But that didn't stop me from returning it. Battery was ok and the reason of ok because once your phone reaches 15% battery it will immediately freak out and start darning the batter down to 0% and once you put it on the charger it will take time for it to est the time for the charge to start. Other wise the battery can last between 1-3 days if you don't use it as much. Gaming on this device was good. Camera was a little laggy but great. Calling was not so good because of the tiny mic. I had to use airpods for it to pickup. Please note this is a chinese phone so of course there's some to not so problems. The phone was fixable and will I suggest this company again? Highly YES and I will buy phones from here for a very low cost. Is there anything to suggest to the website? I would suggest adding more photos to the phones so the people can take a good look. I also suggest updating the phone imei so the people can have it like-new. Otherwise the website looks legit...
