Much to See at Madisonville Christmas Company
If you are wanting to get into the Christmas spirit, then this is the place for you. Our visit on a Tuesday in late October was a fine day to check out this newest attraction and merchandising mercantile just about an hour north of Houston on I-45. For those of you that travel that stretch of interstate often, then youāll just need to look for the āBuc-eeāsā exit. This new establishment is just across the road and to the east just a bit from the Madisonville Buc-eeās.
We arrived shortly after it opened and had plenty of the store to ourselves. We wandered amongst the fantastically decorated trees and wintry scenes masterfully arranged throughout the store. Inside the main building youāll find plenty of shopping delights, as well as, a confectionary and coffee shop, the ā1225.ā
Wandered outside to the grassy area to the west of the store and youāll find plenty of space for the kiddoās to roam. We were there in the daytime, so we didnāt get to see the full view of the many highly decorated and lighted trees in the courtyard. A visit at nighttime is probably in our future. Another venue, the Mantel sports bar, along with several heated outdoor gathering spaces surround the courtyard. There are plenty of opportunities and mini-venues for family Christmas photos, too!
The staff members were very friendly and accommodating throughout our visit, often stoping by to see if they could help with anything. Custom design services are also offered on-site. We were told that there was a place for RVās out back of the main building, but we didnāt venture out there on this day. The only ānegativeā for the day, and it really wasnāt too bad, was that the main parking lot is yet to be fully paved. As such, the existing gravel lot is riddled with plenty of potholes.
Overall, this appears to be an up-and-coming destination stop for the travelers to hop off the interstate for a quick break. And, it serves as a nice day-trip up from the...

HOWEVER...
Like a beautiful woman, looks can be deceiving. The prices have the hallmark of succubus written all over them. While they appear well, the products are Chinese made with a California price tag. Not really the best location for something of this magnitude. I'd expect to find the prices like this if I was visiting Rice Village, The Galleria, River Oaks, The Woodlands, or some other pretentious, upscale neighborhood.
Don't get me wrong, it's beautiful and evokes every aspect of the inner child in me about Christmas. But, that's about it. It's prices are those of Dillard's while selling the quality of Walmart or even Dollar Tree. It was unexpected to say the least. However, having not purchased anything (yet), it concerns me that the lights are not going to be American Quality for these prices. It does have a design studio as well, but some items aren't for sale (example, you can't buy that one ornament from the tree: you have to buy the whole tree, with the hefty price tag of $5,000 - not kidding).
For the items, there is the beauty factor. And because it's conveniently located across from Buc-ees, it's worth taking the glance. But, buyer beware. I've seen this story before... beautiful store magically pops up, sells itself as Candyland on steroids, then overnight disappears. Overall, my skepticism tells me that someone made a HUGE investment in something destined to fail. But, be...

Upon arrival, I noticed how lovely the grounds were, very welcoming and inviting. The front doors were all decked out in red and green Christmas decor. Upon entering there was a beautiful Christmas tree and a sweet lady telling everyone about the store. Then I turned and there he wasā¦. Santa!!! I, of course, took a picture, and he even posed for me. Heās the real Santa as far as I am concerned. Just look at that smile!!! Every corner I turned was a new and exciting decoration to look at. From garland to wreaths to tree decorations for almost every size tree. There was a coffee bar and candy cart with so much yummy chocolate my mouth was watering. My friend and I decided to go outside to the bar, The Mantel, and the sitting areas. There was even a red mailbox for letters to Santa to be mailed. We then went to the walk-up bar and ordered drinks. The cocktails were so hard to choose from. They all sounded so good. Kim was our bartender and she kept us very entertained while helping us to decide on which yummy Christmas cocktail to try first. My friend and I will be back to visit and shop at the wonderful Christmas wonderland. The store that has more. Thank you to our bartender, Kim, and all the workers were saw today. Everyone was so busy helping customers. Yāall are doing a...
