The Thing I hate the most about any Ace Hardware is the Fact that as soon as you walk trough the door there is a wall of people ready to jump all over you wanting to know what you want, like you gonna rob the place. I can’t stand that. NOT THIS ACE HARDWARE. when you walk The door the cashier says hello and that is it! When the sales guys see you walking around they will ask if you need help. If you say No they leave you alone. The owner of the store is always there working as a sales guy, everyone is super friendly and helpful but NOT in that pushy way. Some of it may have to do with they are located In a smaller town and probably have a few less workers then a normal ACE. So they may not have the time to fallow your around. But with small town ACE comes with that Small town Service that bigger city stores are missing, if you come in a lot they know you name. OVERALL GREAT STAFF, GREAT PLACE TO SHOP, GREAT SELECTION. Purchased a Stihl kombi unit 8 months ago, and they must be test run before customer takes possession. When employee finally got the machine to run he left throttle pinned for approximately 45 seconds. Machine now leaks oil/fuel after every use. Returned to store for warranty claim, left $45.00 with them to address said warranty?? When picked up, my son was told they did not know what was done to repair the unit. Used the next day and oil/fuel still leak from bottom of the engine cover. Left message for Carl, did not return call. After finally speaking to Carl, he indicated I would have to bring unit back again. Now opening warranty case with Stihl. The personnel in this store are not well trained, customer service is abysmal, and developing lasting relationships with their customer base in obviously not a concern. My family and I will not set foot in this...

The manager at this Ace Hardware is the worst part of going to this Ace Hardware, but the other associates are very helpful. I went in one time when they were getting rid of their big green egg line of grills, and they had a used MX sized grill for sale at the new grill price. When I asked the manager if they'd go down in price, because it clearly looked like it'd been used so much that the ceramic inside was completely black, he told me no and they only used it once.. I feel sorry for the person that ended up buying that from them, they had a new one in back for the same price. I would recommend the Derby, Central/Tyler, or Andover locations if you have to go to Ace instead of this one, or just go to Lowes if your in Maize.
