This lot is always full, but the main parking lot for this area is at 7103 Westward Beach Road. It’s huge and holds hundreds of cars. You will feel like you’re driving the wrong way but once you get to Westward Beach Road and enter the yellow gate you will follow the beach all the way to Point Dume. This is right below the actual Point and is the best place to park with plenty of paid parking where you won’t get a ticket. Read moreThe parking lot is very small — maybe 15 cars at most. Police officers are constantly waiting to ticket you for even the smallest violations. It feels like they are just waiting to catch anything, which really ruins the experience.
Very disappointing — if I could, I would give 0 stars. I even saw them giving tickets for things you wouldn’t normally know exist, like a car’s wheel being just one inch further from the curb than allowed. It feels unfair, overly strict, and more like a way to collect money from tourists to fill the city budget than actual safety...
