This place is a hidden gem! The ambiance is cozy as befitting its location, and the food is great. The wine selection is solid, as well. Carson Peak Inn does have some quirks that add to its charm. For example, there's a basket of croutons just sitting on the table that just invites you to start noshing. However, the bowl of chopped scallions right next to it is slightly odd.

We have been coming to the Carson Peak Inn since 1980. It's a throwback to a bygone era. The ambiance is old hunting lodge which I find relaxing and enjoyable. Linen Tablecloths, homemade bread and great service. They have a great menu, and a large portion menu also. I've had the steaks, pork chops and the ribs. I have never been disappointed in any of them. My wife loves the butterfly trout. The bake potato and salads are great. Just beer and wine, no hard liquor. Other reviews said that this place had good food, so we stopped by hoping for a good meal. HORRIBLY RUDE service. Brunette waitress came out and said "We're full so if you don't have a reservation, we can't take you. The other waitress might but I won't." I understand if you're booked for the evening, sometimes you have to turn folks away, but this was unacceptable. Completely appalling and we will never even try to return thanks to her.
