Unfortunately, after my experience with this small business, I cannot recommend it, nor can I attest that this business is being ran in good faith. I placed an order through the site around Christmas. I didn't have high hopes for the item to arrive by Christmas, but hoped it would arrive soon after, if not early January. After receiving no confirmation emails or correspondence, I took note that the seller had accumulated bad reviews both on Google and FB, and that their business was listed on Google as "temporarily closed." These reviews overlapped in stating that the seller was not shipping items and in some cases, reviewers felt they had been scammed. I was apprehensive about this, and reached out to the seller through multiple forms of correspondence. The seller got back to me, stating that they were without help and had many orders. They stated they were not scamming people (I can now conclude I believe otherwise). I was promised by the seller that my order would ship out the following day. (This was 8 days after placing my order. )
Spoiler alert- The seller did not ship my item. As of now, (today is February 13), the seller has only printed the label to ship my order. We are going on two months from the initial date of purchase. And while I can sympathize with a small business that it short staffed, the seller could just as easily stop accepting online orders or update their site to indicate they can't accommodate orders. Because the seller has done neither, has continued to accept payments orders beyond their capability to fulfill, and has ignored the bad reviews, I cannot support nor recommend this business and don't find the owner to...
Read moreIn my last order, one candle was severely damaged. That's not a huge deal, but I called them twice, left a message, and emailed once, and never received a reply. The candles are lovely, but I don't feel comfortable ordering from them knowing that any damaged items won't be replaced, and that I can't get in touch with anyone if there's an issue. Great candles, but customer service needs some work!
Edit: I tried placing another order, and this time, order was missing one candle. Again, couldn't get ahold of anyone... Had to go through Paypal to recover the cost of the missing candle. SCC replied saying that my order was delivered. Didn't seem to read the message I sent.
Edit #2: Wow, a response from the owner three years later! I find it ridiculous that you would wait three years and then double down on your own mistake. It's fitting that my review of your company is the number one review when you look it up, and I think that it is probably this way because other people also have this experience with you. Look at the history of reviews here. You have a history of not sending people correct, unbroken orders, and it shows. I started buying my candles from other companies ever since I decided to stop buying them from you, and I've had exactly zero issues. You should be ashamed of yourself. As someone who is also a business owner, I take pride in making sure not only that I send people correct, unbroken items, but that if something happens beyond my control or if a mistake is made, I promptly correct it. People, if you are reading this still, three years later, find another company. A nice-smelling candle is not worth dealing with...
Read moreWhile the drinks themselves were fine, I cannot in good conscience recommend this business due to the owner’s unacceptable actions during a recent community fundraiser. This business signed up to participate in a volunteer fire department fundraiser—an event entirely run by unpaid community members who donate their time to support essential emergency services. Unfortunately, the owner chose not to fulfill their financial obligation. The spot could have gone to another vendor who would have honored the agreement and supported the cause in good faith. Running a business comes with risk. Every vendor at this event accepted that. Every other vendor fulfilled their commitment without issue. But this business believes that if they don’t make enough profit, someone else should shoulder the loss. That is not only unfair—it’s unethical. As someone who deeply values community and volunteerism, I find this behavior incredibly disappointing. I strongly urge others to consider where they spend their money. Supporting businesses that stand behind their word and contribute positively to the community should be a priority. Sadly, this business has proven it does not share...
