This is not a restaurant or sit-in joint, definitely made for take out primarily, anyhow, what it is IS a mastery of pizza. We were driving back from Latrobe and super excited to check out "A Slice of NY" til I called then saw their Facebook post; they were closed for the day. I shed a silent and bitter NY tear cos we'd been talking about going there for weeks (we live in Mt Washington). The drive back was a solemn and silent one til I Googled "NYC style pizza" and "An Extra......" popped up I was like, "what a bunch of poseurs with a VERY similar name" (classic NYC eye roll eye roll 🙄) we figured, what the heck.... We popped in, asked if they were open and surprise, surprise, not only were they open, they are virtually A Slice Of NY's little sibling!!!!!! How the deuce did I not know this? Have I lost my NYC roots? Who am I? Existential questions out the window when we finally got to bite into a slice of friggin heaven yo!!!!!!! Sure I burnt my fingers, lips, mouth, esophagus, etc., but it was sooooo worth it. I'm generally a very boring pizza eater, I really only stick to original or Margherita, this time I was lured in by the ingredients and we ordered the Vodka. That could have been my last meal on Earth, swear to Zeus. We're both pizza snobs, partner from Melbourne, AUS, me from NYC and we were beyond the moon with that pizza. I can still smell and taste it. I wish I'd taken a pic before we ravaged it but frankly, it never stood a chance. They put work into that dough, the ingredients are top-notch and it's cooked to perfection. Shame it's not close enough to us but that's probably a good thing too. Cannot wait to go back to try it all. Oh and everyone working there was down to earth, friendly, polite and lovely; absolute pros.

Went in not knowing what to expect. I knew it was part of the Murrysville, PA location, but I just didn't know how related. They are a franchise of it. They are using different ovens, but the recipe seems the same. I decided to try a white pizza with pesto and ricotta. It turned out pretty good, very tasty. Could have been cooked a bit longer as the bottom needed a bit more time in the oven. Overall, good pie, regardless. Staff was friendly and interested in conversation, all while kicking orders out. Small business, but for the 10 minutes I was there, 4 customers came in with orders for pickup or to be placed. They do slices here, which is great. The one in Murrysville both times I went, neither time was slices available. I definitely recommend this place if you're nearby.

Guy who made the pizza was very friendly and cool. My husband and i always order lightly baked ny style pies because we seem to be of the few that don't really like char/black spots on pizza so and he showed me our pie right out of the oven and asked if it looked good, and it was PERFECT. It had a crispy crust that was soft inside, cheese was def top quality, sauce was tasty (only thing was could maybe use a tad more sauce for us) pepperoni was delicious and they didn't skimp on it! We will absolutely be returning and throwing this in our pizza rotation. Also their Sicilian looks amazing 🤤 so that'll be on our list to try!
