Novak's Flower Shoppe — Local services in Maple Heights

On 10/22/2020, I contacted Novak's Flower Shoppe and had the pleasure of speaking with Sherry. I explained to her that I was calling all the way from California looking for a flower shop that I could entrust to render services to me for a funeral as a same day delivery. I had already searched the Novak website and picked out an arrangement I liked. She was very polite and asked where was the arrangement to be delivered. I informed her that it was going to Gaines Mortuary in Maple Heights. She stated, "no problem ,we do deliver there." From that point I inquired about a particular floor basket I wanted to order and asked whether they had any Sunflowers in stock. She indicated yes. I placed my order and it was pure satisfaction from that moment on. Her brother designed the arrangement and did a beautiful job. A confirmation of the order and delivery was forwarded to me along with pictures of the arrangement. What Awesome service! I really appreciate the diligence and professionalism of Novak's Flower Shoppe and would highly recommend their services to all locals and out of state...

I previewed the website offerings of several private shops to make my selections based on design quality. This brought me to decide on Novak's. I had to order flowers for a funeral and it was important to me to have the arrangements reflect my heart and sentiment to the family. I called direct, got Tami a designer on the phone and was able to walk thru their website to describe the designs I favored and the tweaks I'd like to make based on the stems they had on hand and the sentiment I wanted to express for not 1 but 4 arrangements. Tami walked thru each and designed each based on the personality of the recipient and even assisted in the verbiage of my message cards. She was flawless in her delivery and worked within my budget to pass along a keepsake integrated into the bouquets and arrangements. I couldn't be present so she provided photographs of perfectly done and promptly delivered works of lovingly done art. I am so pleased. Do yourself a favor folks, call your florist direct. Extremely rude staff. I called the flower shop to check on the status of a pick up order and there was a disconnection so I called back. They advised it would be ready in 30 minutes. I then received an e-mail that the flowers will be delivered. I called again to ensure I was able to pick up the flowers. When I greeted her to ask how she was, she snarled and said, “ugh, extremely busy,” I proceeded to ask about the order confirmation e-mail and she commented, “this is the third time you called.” The sign on the door then said for online orders to enter the floral shop only; no walk in customers and they yelled at me for coming inside. I purchased the Mother’s Day bouquet and typed online what I wanted the card to say. I was given a card with words saying “None,” and a “thinking of you” balloon, not one for Mother’s Day. I feel like the floral shop should be grateful for even having business during times like this and to not handle things the way they did, let alone their extremely unprofessional...
