They are not here to help people of different situations, they do push the religion down everyone. But what got me was when my car broke down because it needed new sparkplugs they told me to take a bus to work and was highly mad that i just wanted to fix my car so i could keep the new job i had just gotten...IF they only tried out what they were trying to make me do!!! Take a bus from across the street from Lake Wilderness Elementary to (at that time I worked at the old High School now Maple View Middle School) I would have been better off walking although daycare and my oldest sons school was in the opposite direction. Would have taken me all day to walk but I guess that'd be better than taking a bus to downtown Seattle to catch a bus back south to stop at Tukwila transfer go to kent transfer go to maple Valley only to be dropped off on Maple Valley Highway even further away from the apt they gave me! So I was call "Incompetent" & "incompliant" with the rules. Everyone loves being called name when they are down on their luck!! Thank you kind director lady. Hey but they didn't kick me out until their hot water tank burst and flooded every last thing I owned and told me i should have gotten renters insurance THEN kicked me out!! Lovely bunch of people (Who thinks to get renters insurance in a shelter IF one can't afford rent!!) They made my situation worse with even more trauma on top of the trauma I was going through. Once the old director Cara left, the entire program became about money.cara was sent from God. An amazing woman. They aren't helpful. They aren't there to help you. All they want is money. When I was there, in just a few months time they had 4 families up and leave. I did the same, making it 5. They degrade you, make you feel at fault, worthless, and like a child. If I could give zero stars I would. My case manager was a horrible person. They loaded us with counseling and meetings every day of the week and also expected us to maintain a job and attend church. I was told at one point "well these classes are mandatory. You have to go to them" I told them they were making me chooses between my housing and my job. To which they replied the same, it's mandatory. I lost my job because I had to leave early continuously for their meetings. Their "financial coaches" were a joke. And when their system didn't work for me they said I was being lazy. They make you "earn" fake money to buy house hold items from them. Diapers, individual rolls of toilet paper. Like you're children. Hated this...

I truly needed help, got into the program and received rental assistance. Which was a RARE type of reason I needed help . anyway they paid it. So the program seems amazing, I could not wait to take advantage of all the opportunities and classes they had. I was not treated good by a staff member who greeted me 3 TIMES by "who are you here to see? SIT NOW! not welcomed by case managers everyone else was nice, they lied never paid second month rent which I w Was only short half the rent. The new clothes they offered for my 11 yr old boy- were size 9 women boot holes in it no soul in it, they were trash .the boys Coat was full ofdog hair. I'm a DV survivor I truly needed support,this one time only. I suffered from major anxiety and wS so excited to find a program for my family but I felt so offended by certain staff and while currently just ending my DV situation .I've worked my whole life.
