One of the best public golf courses in MN. I had golfed here many times before the renovation and liked it then, so now it's much improved. The course has all of the familiar unique features like the trees are still in front of the Par 3 #4 and on #17 but they have improved the overall layout of the course, added lots of bunkers, better grass on the fairways, flattened & redesigned & widened some fairways and improved the grees with new grass. That said, I do agree with the previous reviewer that they may have opened a bit too soon - the fairway grass & greens were a bit rough. But it will be better this year. It still is probably the best public GC even with those problems. As a lady golfer, I like where they have moved the forward tees - especially on 13 where now I don't have to hit over the big gully - it's only an easy Par 3 for me now instead of losing a ball in the water or woods. Also, I have heard some senior golfers complain that there isn't any longer a nice "gold" tee option - the white are too close to the black and the blue tees are a bit too far with the new redesign.
The clubhouse is very nice and traditional and has a full menu of quite good food - everything from salads to walleye to steak and full bar. Of course, you can stop in at the turn (which is after #11 at Keller) and get a hot dog or sandwich. They have happy hour too and an outdoor patio to watch golfers come in on 18...and hopefully not get nailed by an errant shot since the patio seems a little close to the finishing hole.
I can't wait for spring to come and get...
Read moreJust finished a bad golf experience at Keller Golf Course in Maplewood, MN. The cost for a round of golf is $43.00 so I was expecting an above average experience. As we were warming up we noticed a five-some was two groups in front of us followed by a three-some just in front of us. So we were waiting many times with the three-some because of the five ahead of them. It was a very hot day and expected to see the drink cart many times. We saw it twice. Once between holes 2 and 3 and then once more between 8 and 9. We never saw her on the back nine. We were so upset we decided not to drink anything in the clubhouse. To top it off, the conditions were lousy. Most tee boxes had many bare spots. The collars on every green also had many bare spots. The greens were very slow and most likely had not been cut today. As a Ramsey County taxpayer I feel the double effect of my tax dollars not being spent well and the greens fees being way over-priced. We will not...

Original: I called during the morning on the Wednesday before Father’s Day to make a tee time for Father’s Day evening. I was assured that my tee time was made and I had nothing to worry about. Normally I would book online, but the online system wasn’t working that day.
I called back on Father’s Day to confirm the tee time, and was told it wasn’t actually made. They told me that it’s a known issue with the individual working Wednesday morning, but refused to squeeze us in or do anything to make it right.
I love playing Keller, but this was a devastating experience that ruined our fathers day plans for my dad, my father in...
