Bob's Upholstery and Decorating Center — Local services in Marietta

Disappointed, disappointed, disappointed!!! I had Bob’s recover my expensive Henredon furniture because it was still in such excellent shape after raising 3 kids on it over the last 20 years. The fabric was simply out of style so I decided to update it instead of replacing such wonderful pieces. Regrettably, I trusted these reviews and called Bob’s.

I was told that all my cushions needed to be replaced. The Henredon cushions had held up perfectly, but again, I trusted the advice and gave the “go ahead”. (I should have asked to keep my original cushions!!!) The foam they put in my cushions looked awful within 6 months. Awful! Embarrassingly so. Of the six pieces I had done and thousands I spent, not one piece is done well. The foam is cheap and uncomfortable and uneven. The sofa and chairs look very cheap now.

When they delivered my sofa, they broke the leg off of it. They took it back to “fix” it, but apparently had stripped the socket and within a month the leg fell off.

I have such regret about the whole project. I lost all the high quality in my furniture when I let Bob’s strip it down and replace my high end cushions with CHEAP FOAM. I could never recommend this company to a friend.

We stopped by their shop with measurements for some chair and ottoman cushions and received a price from the owner. We returned later to drop the chair and ottoman off but the owner wasn't there, so we left them with her daughter, who told us it would be ready in approximately two weeks. Later, the owner called back with a "revised" price but could not explain the price increase. She agreed that the dimensions I had provided were accurate but stated, "I can't go just by dimensions, well, I could, but I like to see the piece first". Against my better judgement and since they had the fabric we liked, we told them to proceed. Four weeks later I called to check on the progress and was told they would be several more weeks. I asked the owner about the original two week estimate and she said, "I don't know who told you that but they were wrong." We went to the store to buy fabric to recover our dining room chairs. Bob’s had a great selection and swatches were attached to each bolt. We bought home five and then went back the same day and purchased 3.5 yds. Of one of the fabrics. The two people who helped us were amazingly friendly and helpful and we left very satisfied.

We had been to another store earlier in the day. It is a chain store. Their selection was less than meager and when I asked for a Sam’s person to cut me a small swatch, she let me know that the didn’t give swatches and that I could purchase a minimum of 1/8 yd. When I asked the price (there was no ticket to show the price) the same person told me I could take the bolt to the cutting desk and they would do it. I walked out.

This experience made our experience at Bob’s all the better! I will definitely go back the next time I need fabric and I will tell friends...
