I had some work done on the car and I was in the neighborhood so I thought I'd stop by after seeing some people talk about this place on Facebook. So I had the lunch special of garlic chicken which comes with fried rice hot and sour soup a spring roll and one fried chicken wings. First of all the steam dumplings were perfectly done good portfilling not a lot of spice just a good flavor that was very good. The hot and sour soup was very rich thick and I enjoyed it very much. The garlic chicken an excellent flavor fresh mushrooms celery and carrots are still crisp Chicken was done perfectly that was a very good choice. The fried rice that came with it had a good flavor not too oily it was very good. The spring roll was a frozen spring roll so can't sound good about it but you can't say anything bad about it. Now the service was exceptional this was at 1:00 so it was lunch but there was eight people working the floor working in teams taking your order filling your water bringing your food it was just very good service. When I say feeling my water my glass never got half empty and they're coming filled up and ask everything okay. They also gave me a water to go. Also ask some questions of one of the servers about a dish that I used to get back home in Canada and she explained to me what it was that I would order here and how it was prepared and so they even took time to help with not only your selection but to answer your questions I found that very refreshing. I will definitely come back I was just you come and try this place they moved here from Sandy springs this location on Marietta. Very happy with the portions for the price lots of food good service good food you need to stop by this place. Update six of us. Stop by for dinner. And the food is wonderful. The service is great. We had a variety of dishes. Two of our group or the dinner for two at $45. It was a very good deal. With soup, egg roll, two chicken wings and two dinners and orange slices and fortune cookies with hot tea or cold tea. A good value I've added some pictures of the dishes we had Kung Pao, moo goo gai pan, shrimp fried rice, Mongolian beef, hot and sour soup and the chicken wings which were excellent. Just to do the largest wings...
Read moreO.K. A couple of things. First, you NEVER come to a Cantonese restaurant for the decor, or even for the friendly people, because you won't find any. In fact, I think that most Chinese waiters to go Chinese Waiter School where they get their PhD in bad manners and brusk behavior, treating customers in a way where they won't want to come back again. Such was certainly the case here. But you don't go to a family Chinese restaurant for Four Star service or the ambiance, you go there for the food... period.
When I sat down, the place was bright and fairly busy. I immediately received the usual, "Who are you and what are you doing here?" attitude from the less than cordial server, and I ordered up right away. I was famished, coupled with the fact that this was the first place in ATL I found that featured fresh seafood, so I decided to give it a try. First, I was rather shocked to learn that the prices were equal to that of the most expensive Chinese seafood joints in NYC. The crab cost me $50., and a simple plate of sauteed Chinese greens was $14.00. Even a pot of tea cost four bucks, usually supplied complimentary in any decent Chinese restaurant I've ever heard of. The food was well prepared, but extremely high for the neighborhood. When I asked the decidedly unfriendly waitress for a towel to clean up with after eating an entire crab myself, she looked at me as though I personally demanded a winning lottery ticket. In any reputable Chinese seafood restaurant, a warm, moist towel is always offered after dinner, but evidently she had never even been inside a Chinese seafood restaurant. Welcome to Atlanta.
The entire meal cost me eighty bucks, combined with the Uber ride, a cool hundred dollars for one dinner out. And although it was good and filling, alas, these are definitely New York prices, something to think about when coming here for a less than elegant...
Read moreThe first time I came here, I was very impressed. It looks real classy inside; my husband said the crab ragoon was the best he's ever had, and I thought the soft shell crab was outstanding. All the food was fresh and hot.
My second trip was different. The waitress didn't ask my husband what he wanted to drink. Not a big deal since my husband didn't speak up, either. Then when he got his crab ragoon that he was so excited to order again, it was old and cold. He was so bummed.
When we got our entrees, they were cold too. I've also noticed that none of the "spicy" dishes are ever spicy. The waitress never came back to ask if we needed anything else. My husband never got a straw for his water either. It is what it is.
At the end of our meal, a different waitress than the one who'd been serving us brought us oranges and our check. (The oranges were the best part of the meal.) As she set the check down, she giggled, so I looked up at her. She looked me in the eye, looked away and giggled again. Then she walked away. Weird.
When she came back for the check, she did the same thing again. I was going to ask her why she kept laughing at me, but I never got the chance since a third waitress brought our debit card back. I will always wonder.
Not to state the obvious, but we won't go back a third time. If I do, it'll be to figure out why that chick kept...
