My family (husband, wife, 2 teenage girls) decided to stop by. One daughter and I had very small crossbody purses; the other had a small wallet. When we walked in, the lady at the counter stopped us and told us to lock up our purses in her wooden lockers at the front door. We weren’t looking or acting suspicious. We have traveled extensively, and this is the absolute first place in the country (or abroad) I have attempted to shop where I was stopped at the front door and treated like a shoplifter. Not even Tiffany’s in NYC treated their customers with such suspicion! We were shocked! After realizing that we had understood correctly that we were not allowed to shop while holding our own wallets, we decided to leave and shop where we felt comfortable.
