Monarca Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Marion

The food for the most part is really good. The staff is friendly. The restaurant is clean and updated. My only gripe would be it's a little tight in there in certain areas. This is a very small space and they may have one or two too many tables for that size of a restaurant. I was sitting in the aisle blocking access to the bar area last time I ate there and it was very uncomfortable for me, other guests, and the employees.

It's not the cheapest meal in town, but I'm willing to pay extra for a decent meal so I'm not complaining about the prices. My wife really likes the birria dishes. I like the urban bowl. Ok guys, let me tell you....I'm your friend that states that all "American" Mexican Restaurants are the same. I would stand by that comment until I ate here. The chips and salsa are the best in town by far, the margaritas are like a combination of a new orleans snowball and a frozen margarita (super creamy), the food actually has distinct flavor to set them apart from the other restaurants in town, and the staff was highly personable! It will be a place my family and I will be visiting many more...

Our party had the ground beef burrito, which came covered in queso, the urban bowl and shrimp cocktail-which my friend combined, the chicken & steak fajitas which were delicious with a lot of flavor. Next time I would order just the chicken fajitas as the steak was not as tender. Guacamole and salsa was very good and their corn tortillas are homemade. I wish the flour tortillas were homemade-that would have put it over the top. We will be putting Monarca on our list of top favorites in...
