Just left Murphy orchard. Probably worth driving out there if you live fairly close by, but definitely good to manage expectations also. The area available to the public is pretty small, also actual "apple picking" seems to end fairly early in the season. Appreciated the option to buy several different types of apples that looked good and fresh. Honey, homemade jam, and some snacks available too. There's an area where they process the apples that would have looked fun for the public to view. My 4-year-old wondered over there, but did not receive good interaction from staff. When it came time to pay, they have very young kids who are taking your money. I was overcharged several dollars and I'm glad that I insisted on checking each item individually. Sounds like a great family-run business locally, but would definitely recommend checking things to make sure they're ringing up items correctly and would advise better training for younger kids handling cash and payments for the paying public. There are many other orchard options in the area, but will...
Read moreIt is so worth the beautiful drive to me . The produce is delicious. I got a sugar baby watermelon, peaches, apples, onions, tomatoes and preserves. Their preserves and apple butter are so good. The orange marmalade is the best I have ever had and I love orange marmalade so I've had a lot of different brands. My mom says that she uses her orange marmalade to make spicy orange chicken. That sounds so good. The peach and green jalapeño preserves as well as the salsa were also very good. I like to spoon my jalapeno Preserves on top of cream cheese and then put that on top of a Ritz cracker. It's a great little snack, especially for guests. The staff is friendly and helpful. They will give you samples if you've never tried a certain variety of fruit before. Plus I love their apple cider slushie that you can purchase. It's so delicious. Their apple cider is also the best I've ever had and doesn't have any additives or preservatives so it just tastes like fresh and juicy crisp apples. Be sure to grab some of that too before...
Read moreSuch a great place! They're super knowledgable about their produce, they can help you select the best option for you. Very eager to help! My favorite part about going is the apple cider. I've never had such good apple cider in my life. It's become a tradition in our house - fall doesn't officially start until mom brings home a gallon of cider. I also tried an apple dumpling on my last visit, it did not disappoint! They also had a nice variety of pumpkins and gourds available. Very nice little...
