There is an obvious reason their rating is NOT 5 stars!!!!!!
It was almost worst case scenario. Bought the truck from a few hours away on their word it was in proper running condition as advertised. The truck was sold and delivered in a condition that was NOT even road worthy.
The 4wd system was completely inoperable. The engine made a LOT of noise that we later learned it shouldn't! BOTH made enough of noise even a 2nd grader could tell things weren’t right...not to mention a 'senior tech' as one of them described themselves...
When they delivered it, they pointed out the 4wd noise and said "it was tire noise”.... Tire noise you could feel it in the floor and in the steering wheel and it did NOT have any funky big knobby tires on it! They said the engine noise was horrible! They said it "was just the way these trucks sound".
The 4wd noise turned out to be actuators destroying themselves thanks to an incorrectly installed wheel bearing and a bunch of vacuum leaks and it also needed a new transfer case too....it was blown!
The engine noise turned out to be a blown turbo. Running it with the blown turbo was further hurting the engine in the process as well!!!!
The 4wd and engine issues were going to cost me over $4,500!!!!!!!!!!
To add to that...upon arrived at delivery...the passenger mirror was bumped in some from them hitting it on something and included a minor dent in the door and cracked up the mirror a little in the process. Also found out that the parking brake only half worked...only because it was missing hardware...it was missing hardware where they proudly said they worked on it...yet delivered it with missing a brake shoe! 2 points senior tech!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wait, did a tech even look at this vehicle? Certainly seems like they didn't!!!!! :-(
Their detailing job was also zero! There were still food crumbs and paper scraps in the cup holders, seats, floor & center console. The bed of the truck even had trash in it. Clearly, they had NOT heard of a technician, a vacuum or even a broom.
The only thing I’ll give them a tiny bit of credit for...is they saw to it to fix a some of what was seriously wrong with the truck when they sold it....NOTE: some, far from ALL!!!!!!!!!!
Fixing what little they did took over 3 months and still left me with a looming check engine light linked to their engine issues. A plain as day issue....they said brakes with missing hardware were fixed...but were really NOT fixed at all....still missing the same hardware the entire time!!!!!!
Over 3 months to fix SOME of what was screaming obvious...and still NOT make it right!?!?!?!?!? Sounds like they are a tree...rather shady:-(
I'm just wondering if I asked a few less questions or such at delivery...would they have just left me with it and the over $4,500 bill to make it right? OMG!!!!!!!! YIKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love the vehicle, just hate (beyond words) the path we took to get it AND they way they handled it and the money we had to put into it after they 'were done with it'...!!!!!!!
In hind sight...should have been more rational and just walked away from it and continued shopping...elsewhere!!!
Buyer beware!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am NOT the 1st or 2nd or 3rd person in this position thanks to them!!!!! Read the rest of...
Read moreWhen my husband and I lived down state, I used to buy all my Jeeps from a Jeep dealer in Highland. I loved that I had great relationship with the sales and finance folks there and they gave me a fair deal and excellent service for 15 years. Several years ago we moved to Port Hope and the time came to update my car. We visited several dealerships in the Thumb looking at all the newer models of cars to determine if I wanted something different. As a result, we experienced working with several sales folks - all with varying rates of enthusiasm to sell us a car.
Then we walked into Joe Ricci Marlette and met Tom Bowser. CLICK! Tom was incredibly personable, demonstrated the ability to not only listen, but ask the right questions to better determine what I was really after in my next vehicle. Mind you, while I love Jeeps, I wasn't simply looking to buy one. I was looking to establish a great relationship with a company I could trust, who would take care of the vehicle right the first time, and one who would help me make the best decision based on multiple factors starting with cost (we bought a used vehicle).
Tom did all that. After listening to my wish list, he knew of a recent trade in at another Joe Ricci dealership that he thought we'd be interested and got the car brought over to Marlette right away. It really was perfect and we got a great deal on it. We bought a car, made a friend, and we know we can count on him to help us fairly in the future.
There's something to be said for connecting with professionals who provide goods and services... Tom was comfortable to talk to, he worked to build trust and respect (listening, sticking to our price range and features wish list) and the guy has a great sense of humor. Building these important relationships, in this way, is how we like to do business in life. We're grateful to have Tom Bowser and Joe Ricci as our go to for vehicles. We look for the BEST, and...
Read morePLEASE READ ‼️ So this was my first car buying experience by myself at a dealership. I go in at around 5:15 they close at 6 and they’re rushing me to sign the papers before I even see the truck or ask questions but because I had bad credit and because they’re a Chrysler dealership I signed the papers and trusted the branding. I didn’t check the suspension because it only had 85k miles well I needed thousands of dollars in the suspension one of the sway bars was completely rusted out and ripped in half and also brake work after buying the vehicle. The oil was the nastiest me or my buddy ever seen the air filter is going bad I didn’t expect a dealership to be so unprofessional I didn’t even check such minor things it was like they bought it and threw it on the lot. They also conned me into giving them an additional $2500 for a warranty I never received. I paid 23.5 with all the lying and my fake warranty I paid for and still couldn’t change the oil!?? Not to mention parts like doors, door handles etc are falling apart at 86k miles? Pretty sure they took parts off it and gave me old ones. I mean honestly those people don’t care about you at all completely lied and spun the truth and got as much out of a young guy as they could. I promise you they don’t care about you making it as a person at all as long as they fill their pockets. Horrible business and unprofessional as it gets. Not only that the employees were drinking beer in the parking lot the day I was there and they closed. Need better employees. With the workers they have in there the owner must not care about quality or satisfaction just greed. Find another dealership for...
