We attended a birthday party today for my friend's little girl. She was told to arrive at 11am to decorate the party room, and the party would start at 11:30a. However, they did not show up to unlock the doors until right at noon. We attempted to call, their voicemail states they open at 10am on Saturday. My friend waited an hour (as she arrived at 11am as scheduled), her guests 30+ minutes. In that time, the pizza she ordered for the party was delivered and grew cold. The owner did help carry items in, but the room wasn't able to be decorated and things felt rushed. They were very disorganized (I'm sure due to showing up late to a parking lot full of people and being unprepared for a party that was well past starting time), there was no time to set up, so most of the decorations were wasted. The owner did apologize and offer my friend a $50 discount. The party should have been comped completely and only the pieces that were painted paid for since the food was cold, the decorations wasted, the time spent sitting in the parking lot, and the disorganization.
The ceramic pieces were really cute. They gave the option of painting with acrylics and taking them home today, and the kids had a good time. I think if you're just looking for a walk in experience, you'll have a great time and find the pricing reasonable. Unfortunately, if you're looking for a party experience, based on today... I would not recommend...
Read moreI do not usually write online reviews, but when someone goes above and beyond I think kudos are well-deserved.
I have been to Creative Spark maybe a half-dozen times, most recently over Thanksgiving weekend with my 2-year old granddaughter and daughter-in-law. As always, Yvonne and her staff were cordial, efficient and accommodating – giving us the one-on-one assistance when needed, and leaving us to work independently when we wanted to do so.
Once my granddaughter finished the project I had chosen for her, she decided she wanted to do another, so we regrouped and went back for more, while the staff got my daughter-in-law going with a couple of projects of her own.
When the two-year old attention span wore out, we’d take a break and let my DIL continue her projects. All in all we were there more than four hours and never felt rushed. I was amazed that my granddaughter painted that rock for two hours on her own! She loved it. As we were leaving she looked at me and said, “I had fun!” That in itself made it all worthwhile … but would not have been possible without the warm welcoming, relaxing and therapeutic environment that Creative Spark offers.
I plan to take my other granddaughter and daughter on their next visit up.
Thanks, Yvonne and staff: yes … I will definitely be going again...
Read moreWe stumbled on this studio after moving to the area, looking for some hands on art experiences. They have classes and drop ins, where you can purchase various types of art activities and do right there in the studio. It’s warm and inviting. We have done pottery painting, free style canvas painting and glass fusing. They also have a splatter paint room that is in an old bank vault. It’s very cool. They offer drinks and snacks as well. I haven’t taken the classes but have seen the separate class room they use. You are permitted to bring wine. This would be a great girls night and I was told they do a lot of birthday parties. This is a little gem, owned by hospitable locals with a passion for sharing their love of art. I would highly recommend dropping in or taking a class. We will be back to experience more of...
