If I could give less than one star I would because of how rude and awful Ernie of Ernie's bike shop was to me. I have bought two bikes from this store, rented bikes, and have had many repairs also done here so I have spent PLENTY of money in this store. I brought in a bike on June 9th that needed the handle bars raised so the piece was $20 and with labor it was almost $60. If that wasn't bad enough, when I saw the bike it had a 5" inch rip in the seat which I know for a fact it was not there when I dropped it off. I understand accidents happen so I brought the bike back in so Ernie could do the right thing by me but that was not the case. He was unbelievably rude and and a downright jerk to me. He accused me of bringing it in this way. I explained to him that I was not pulling anything I just thought he should make it right. He had and employee try on a $8 seat bonnet which he expected me to pay for. I explained to him that I just spent $60 on the center handlebar post and I was not putting any more money into this bike. He took the bonnet back, turned around and mumbled "oh well" and walked back into the building. I can not believe a business owner treats people who spends their money in his store like this. I wish I knew this before I bought two bikes there. I will never recommend this awful person to anyone. Beware!!!! DO NOT SHOP AT ERNIE'S- OVERPRICED RIP OFF WITH NO...
Read moreEnormous selection of all sorts of bicycles. From kids bikes to moon riders. They've got great prices on their bikes compared to other cycle shops in the Akron Kent Massillon area. From what I've seen atleast 100 knock off price from other cycle shops so dont bother looking other places for a good price. On top of bikes they have an excellent selection of gear, I'm talking about helmets car racks ( for all different types of vehicles, they carry Thule and Saris... in my opinion highest quality racks ever built) for prices that the manufacturer can't even beat (still can't understand how..) they always have a clearance table when you walk in and some stuff may be on sale all you have to do is ask the extremely helpful and talented staff. They also have really cute cat that comes out around closing time that they rescued off the 70 mile trail that leads all the way to Cleveland. They have bells, gloves, mirrors and maintenance equipment, with two mechanic areas so there's never a delay on your bike. I came in half an hour to closing time and the staff seemed busy but not one skipped the opportunity to ask if I was being assisted (since they were closing and they all were bring bikes in) . It is family run and one woman stopped her portion of closing just to help me find the perfect helmet that fit my oddly...
Read moreRecently had a fantastic experience with Foster at Ernies Bike shop on new years eve. My mom has been looking for a trek bike for about 8 months. We have tried local bike shops near us (Lake county) but no luck with all the shortages lately and they give us the run around and say we are on a "list". I called Ernies since it showed they had one in stock and reserved it right over the phone without any issues. went about a week later to pick it up and the customer service was exceptional. we drove about an hour and 15 minutes and when we arrived we were greeted by Foster. He brought the bike up and did a test fitting. turns out our local bike store told us the wrong size and Foster quickly told us that he suggests a different size. THANKFULLY they had the same bike in the next size up which is a miracle. The point I want to make is Foster wanted to make sure we bought the correct bike, he could have rang us up and sent us on our way with the wrong size bike but thankfully he clearly has morals and ethics and made sure to get the correct size. From there he set up a test ride and went into great detail about the mechanics. working in a customer facing retail environment i was blown away by our experience. Definitely would...
