Smokey Bluezz — Local services in Mauldin

It was amazing night. The food was GREAT, the music was AMAZING, the service was good; however, when I got ready to pay, the service did not bring me a check. She brought me the amount on her little card machine. I thought it was a little high, but I didn’t know how much my husband ordered. On top of the check, I gave her a tip if almost $20. I opted for the receipt and she almost walked off with it. When she gave it to me, I saw I was charged an automatic gratuity. There was NOTHING printed anywhere, or on the menus saying there was an automatic gratuity. The server did not tell us, and it was our first time there. I won’t be coming back. This type of tomfoolery is beneath me. The customers/guests should be NOTIFIED IN ADVANCE of an automatic gratuity. I asked a different server about it and she said they were “upscale”, but people had on t-shirts, joggers, and tennis shoes. Upscale is UPSCALE and obviously these people don’t know what that means. She also said that it has been brought to the managers attention before and he refuses to post it. This was very disappointing and blatant scandalous activity. We drove over an hour to be bamboozled. I hope the server enjoys that $35 tip. The service was good, but not $35 on a $75 tab good. The band was better than the server and they deserved the tip more than she...

The vibe & the music is great but the food wasn’t good at all. I ordered the shrimp and grits and it wasn’t edible. I had to send it back because it was too salty. The waitress asked me did I want to order something else so I got the Chicken Alfredo which didn’t taste nothing like Alfredo. The chicken taste like it was bagged precooked chicken that was heated in the microwave. It wasn’t good at all. Needless to say I was still charged for the shrimp and grits and not the Chicken Alfredo which was cheaper. The shrimp and grits was $22 the chicken Alfredo was $18. I will still patronize this place for the good music but I will definitely eat before I come. My daughter ordered the spinach and artichoke dip it wasn’t good either. Absolutely one of the best bluezz establishments in the upstate with its incredible staff from the parking assistance gentlemen to that lovely waitress who took care of us and her other tables with top quality service, probably one of the best services I’d had in a very long time to the drinks( scotch, bahama mama, long island tea) to that incredible very flavorful spinach dip to the alligator bites, this spot is absolutely fantastic and to top that off a live band whose just simply incredible, if you looking to take family & friends of age to enjoy a night out this is the spot, no doubt!!!
