I first found out about Results Fitness 7 years ago while reading the ābest of the Eastā in Cleveland magazine. I was desperate to find a gym I could somehow stick with over a long period of time. I had hit my 50s and was very deconditioned and overall feeling unwell. I tried multiple times to join gyms, including ones with all the ābells and whistlesā as well as the cheaper, open-24 -hour -kinds near my house. Invariably, I would go for a week, or maybe 2 weeks, and just stop. I felt frustrated and like something was āwrongā with me. When I first went into RF, I could tell it was something very different. The coaches were all very welcoming and seemed genuinely interested in my goals, as well as very invested and knowledgeable. My first session was tough: I was very out of shape and everyone seemed to know everyone else. But I stuck with it. Why? Many reasons. First, accountability. You sign up for a specific class, and if you late-cancel or no-show, there is not only a financial penalty, but more importantly, there are actual people on the other end who care that you are not there and will reach out to see if you are ok. You also might be taking away a spot from another member who now cannot get in because itās too late. Then there is the community..over time, just showing up day after day, year after year, the people you sweat with become cherished friends who push you and support you. RF members are among the greatest group of people I have ever known. There is no walking into the gym and not knowing what to do or what weights to start on, or how to progress. All that is done for you! I have also learned a tremendous amount about nutrition and diet, about why āmotivationā is not enough to sustain fitness over the long haul, and how to manage hurdles such as soreness, āhardā days where itās all very tough, and generally how to stay consistent without the āall or nothingā mentality I had for so many years. 7 years on, I am stronger than I have ever been and feel like I can accomplish things I never thought I could before. The coaches are incredible teachers and humans, and they each contribute their own special magic to the sessions. If you are on the fence, I encourage you to just take the leap and try RF for yourself. It has truly changed my entire life...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy wife and I were founding members of this gym. We absolutely loved it! It was worth paying for the most expensive gym in the area because of the personal attention, even during group workouts. There were fun activities like the Rise-Up challenge, outdoor workouts and yoga. We did not even bat an eye when we were asked to sign contracts in 2017. Why would we, we loved the gym. In 2017, things started to change. Yoga disappeared. The Rise-Up challenge, which used to be free to members, now required a fee. Focus shifted to obtaining new members and less attention was paid to those of us that had been there a while. At the end of 2017, Results created a policy that required members to sign up for workouts. If you did not make the workout or did not cancel outside of 10 hours, you were charged a $12 penalty. We protested this new policy and were told by the owner/head trainer, I hear your concerns, try it out for a few months and let's see how it goes. My wife is a veterinarian and her work hours exploded in early 2018 and we got a dog. By February, she was not making it to the gym or using all of her semi-private workouts and I was very infrequently making it. We started the conversation about what to do. After being prompted to sign up for other classes and get on the waitlist, we had a face-to-face meeting with Josh the owner and his girlfriend Jenna, the membership experience extraordinaire (I'm not joking, this is her title). We were given the option to go on a freeze so we could "get our lives together." Doing the almost 2 month freeze, we would have been able to make it to the gym 4 times. We asked to get out of our contract. We were told no and after several exchanges, Results Fitness took us to court. That is how they treat "family". Don't believe the lies, all they care about is your money. My wife and I now work out at LA Fitness, get to do all our workouts together and it costs $3,000...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am writing this review based on my extreme disappointment in the trainer ( Josh) and this gym in general. I was a member of this gym since their beginning over 5 years ago along with my husband and we brought our daughter and son in law on board. We thought that the trainer and the gym were focused on our health and fitness until they started to grow. Then came the contracts and change in hours to meet the needs of themselves and only the newer members. They next started charging if you missed a group class $12.00 and if you didn't sign up for a group class you could not attend or if you were late for class by 5 minutes you got bumped out of it. They had yoga classes as part your plan and now that is gone. They had a massage room that is gone but they are still charging the same fees for this gym and increasing fees as well. The worst issue is the fact if you have something changing in your life like your work hours and can not make it any longer to the hours they have now set, you have to finish off the payment of your whole contract or they take you to court to get their money. Would not be bad if you could close out the last month you need to leave but they expect the contract to be paid. Then to top it off the contract is all in their favor as noted earlier in this review they can make changes in the hours or remove services and you are still held respondsible for the contract. They no longer look at the health and fitness of the individual they look at the the dollars. I have left this gym and am much happier at my new gym where they care about your health, fitness and well being with no contract. Hopefully none of the newer members or others have any life change within their contract year because they will have to pay it or...
