Compliment to the WATER department! The Maysville Town Hall, and Maysville town government has really evolved to be more efficient. A couple of years ago I want to say 2009? A new Town management came in and started making changes. The water report started being available online, we started seeing positive changes right away. A Maysville website and Logo was developed, website with directory was created. Now a DMV and alot more depts are accessible. What sparked me to create this review is I had a very positive interaction with two of the Ladies at the Water department. First she answered the phone after closing, maybe by accident maybe not. I told her about my issue with water and tenants. She went out of her way in the past ( a month ago) to make sure we had the water on. Yes I had to provide proof and leases, but thats exactly what you want a company to request. Requiring a lease or proof of a property being rented is so important to avoid squatters and other mishaps. Long story straight people who follow the rules, and jump through the necessary hoops will reap the benefits of a Town that will do the same in return for its loyal citizens. I was born in Maysville and I believe that these very positive interactions with gatekeepers and city administrators will keep our native locals happy and keep our visitors returning. After making phone calls every day to various real estate, utilities and then to Maysville Town Hall, I was happy to finally hear a professional and empathetic person answer the phone to complete a business transaction that was very experienced and knowledgable. Came in with all of my documents and she turned me away the first day due to not having my active duty husband with me. Came back the next day with my husband and she didnāt want to complete the registration because our insurance said California on it. We explained weāre active duty and are from California with Ca plates, but that our insurance is in North Carolina. She refused to help at all because the paper said California at the top and didnāt want to listen to us. She was far more interested in being abrasive and stuck up. Talked to her supervisor and while the supervisor was slightly less rude, she didnāt have any a sense of authority over the LPA staff. The Jacksonville DMV suddenly closed and my boyfriend whom is 100% disabled with the VA, went to this location to renew his vehicle registration tags and also his disability parking placard. He provided to them the required document for his disability parking placard which states "Medical Providers Recertification NOT required", which came specifically from the NC DMV in Raleigh. The woman whom helped him told him that she couldn't accept his documentation and told him that he needed to go get recertified by his provider. He felt as though she didn't believe him and thinks he falsified his document. I helped him go online to renew, which btw DID successfully go through and he will just have to wait up to 4 weeks to receive his placard in the mail.
