Have shopped here a few times. Meat Dept. grinds/cuts meat daily. It is always a GREAT value and excellent quality. Variety on most grocery items is limited. Where most chain stores carry eight flavors of an item they may only offer two. Prices are like everywhere - high on some low on others - but you can always shop sale items. Ladies restroom is usually dirty without soap or paper towels and the stall door doesnt lock correctly.
My main issue that detracts from me being a regular customer is management. Issue was not on this visit. Store manager has followed me through the store on more than one occasion. Working retail I checked myself for anything I was doing that might look suspicious.was it that I add up my items as I shop to stay on budget? No oversized purse or coat and not eating anything in the store. But when my 16 yr old asked me why that guy was following me I knew it wasnt me being paranoid. Thinking this was a crazy person going to abduct me in the parking lot I notified my cashier upon checkout as I felt unsafe in the store and was informed that was the store manager who could do whatever he liked and if I didnt like it I could shop elsewhere. Ok. So I pretty much do shop elsewhere except once in awhile. I will drive to Tuscaloosa or Bessemer where I feel safer shopping and my money...
Read morenormally I have a good shopping experience at foodland, so I start adding granny apples in my bag, then I realized they were $3/pound, I can not tell you how fast I let go of that bag. I always had issues paying $2.29/pound for apples, but never complained about it, so I would prefer something around $1.99 pound. If a price increase does not affect your entire shopping experience, then I do not know what does. a chain reaction can cause other chain reactions. If i do not eat apples, then I do not eat peanut butter, or ranch for that matter. I am not fat because I am starving, I am fat because I eat too much of what I do not need, and the foods that are good for cost too much, needless to say, I did not buy half the items on my list because of this alone, so keep your apples, in fact, foodland can keep some other items that I normally get, but do not need anyways. Whats it like to have a bin full of apples selling slow at a high cost, compared to a reasonable cost, and selling more? oh well, it just seems more rot apples will end up at the pig farm. If you can not keep your product costs reasonable, then I have no business shopping at foodland as I very well know my way to walmart. Your store is old, and outdated, ever thought about renovations? or sell to walmart for a...
Read moreI enjoy shopping here in Woodstock Alabama. You have willing employee that's willing to help on whatever. The store is always clean Shelves are dust off. The guys n ladies in the meat department always have fresh looking meat out clean and odorless free. Produce Products always look healthy n clean also friendly department. The bakery department always smelling good and clean very friendly people. I used to stay in Marion Alabama where I shop at foodvalu, Not that friendly And the prices they charge is ridiculous. I loved when I moved To Woodstock Alabama. If I had to pick something negative about the store it will have to be their store policy on man with short hair. My son n 2 of his friends loved the people that worked in the store, some of their classmate work at the store but they wanted 2 of the boys to cut their dreads locks off to work there. I didn't think that was fair to young man's who had long hair as long as it was neat. That is why I gave it a 4 rating and not a 5. But Overall the store is always clean everything Is organize and in the right place. And OMG THE SALES THEY HAVE MOST OF THE TIME IS UNBEATABLE!!! THE BEST!!! YOU CANT BEAT THEM!!! You can't go wrong shopping here at...
