The manager at the Dollar General is a a nasty , rude and condescending person. I had quite a bit of Halloween decorations in my cart along with other items. I planned on decorating both of my kids rooms. Apparently my 19 yr old son is too cool for that. I needed to go through the items in my cart now and decide what I'd be keeping and what I'd return. It was a bit hard trying to organize the items in a cart full of other stuff so when I walked past an end cap shelf completely empty, I took out just the Halloween stuff and at that moment my daughter called. I stood off to the side never once walking away or giving any indication that I was just dumping this stuff because I no longer wanted any of it and didn't feel like putting it back where it belonged. In fact, I had alread put back a few things at different times walking to the other side of the store , just to put back 1 or 2 things that I easily could have sat anywhere. It was at the time while speaking to my daughter next to the shelf holding my items I still needed to organize when a female employee came up and started grabbing the items making comments about people being rude for leaving stuff like this for her to put back and looked right at me as to say , " by people I mean you" I told my daughter to hang in a sec and politely may I add said" excuse me ma'am, those are actually my items. I needed some extra room to go through everything and decide what I am still going to keep . It was just a bit hard due to the other items in the cart while pointing in my cart. She just crossed her arms and gave the nastiest look while rolling her eyes and made some comment about me lying or her not believing me. I then again still not rude but not as nice , I said. Ma am in 42 yrs old and have 2 children. I'm very much capable of returning items I've grabbed and put them back where I got them. In fact , your moe than welcome to watch the camera feed back seeing me do just that multiple since I've been here. More dirty looks and multiple right right sure. Look, I too worked a job that had customers who treated the place horribly. It wasn't retail, but the restaurant business. It can be hard so I always try to respect the places I shop but this lady was having none of it. Even after I calmly explained why I put it on there and was just taking a call real quick from my child. She just wouldn't hear it and was convinced I was lying and was going to make sure she let me know. Absolutely not. I'm not a child. I've been nice and explained but at some point after doubling down or her attitude, I was done. I said something about her being a nasty person and that since this is how she wants to treat a me a loyal customer even after I tried to explain, I'm no longer buying anything from this store and now she can put away the rest of the stuff I was getting . I'd also be sure to contact her manager. She then said I am the manager which was even worse in my eyes that an upper level employer is behaving that way. This shopping center is located at a busy intersection and probably mostly serves local residents. I most often visit for the DMV, Japanese and Chinese restaurants, and dollar store.
