The star rating is more for the server and the atmosphere than the food because we were unable to get any food due to poor planning and ordering. We arrived on Wednesday around 8:15 - 8:30. The place was pretty full, with only 1 table open for seating. We specifically came for the wings. It was all you can eat wing night and wings are also a staple menu item. We decided that we were not going to have the all you can eat option but rather just wanted an order of wings off of the menu. We were told that we couldnt have any waings because they were saving them for people that ordered all you can eat. From a business standpoint, this is completely unacceptable. The waitress then proceeded to tell us that they dont have a way to accurately order wings. Well, you can review previous weeks sales and see a trend. You can review the previous years sales for the period if that data exists. There are plenty of ways to place an order that prevents you from running out of a menu staple. The server was very polite, and she tried to offer other items on the menu, but not once did she offer for a manager to come talk to us. The atmosphere is crowed. The tables are pushed very close together and the noise level of everyone talking is deafening. Adults are unable to have a close quarters conversation without yelling. We could literally hear the conversation of a table 2 tables over even above the other people yelling. I hope this place improves their processes because the food looked really good and the reviews reflect it, but from what we experienced, i have my doubts. I will update this review IF we ever...
Read moreThis was my first time visiting Large Plain. Being the nearest pizza restaurant to my house, I had visited the previous business here, Luciano's, on and off over the years and thought it nothing more than average. I watched over the weeks as this location was bought and spruced up, and received a flyer in the mail upon their opening, prompting me to try it out.
I did an online order for a small pepperoni pizza and breadsticks, the website was smooth sailing and gave a reasonable 25 minute wait time. Upon arriving I saw the parking lot pretty full for a Thursday evening, and I enjoyed the new dark brown & yellow paint job on the exterior. Once inside I was immediately helped by two girls behind the counter, way faster than I can say for a few other restaurants where you're practically ignored and wait around. They had my order hiding in one of those thermal pizza delivery bags to keep it nice and hot until I arrived!
The breadsticks were good and pretty similar to what I've gotten at other places. The pizza was tasty and the sauce wasn't too sweet and a bit acidic. The small is perfect for an individual or to split as a couple with an appetizer. I can't speak to the sit down service, but look forward to returning and am happy with this addition to the...
Read moreGreat pizza, terrible delivery. Our delivery guy claimed he had a broken back and shouldn't have had to walk up the stairs to our apartment, but he didn't call from the bottom to have us come down! He stood outside our apartment wheezing and yelling at us to call 911. We told him we would, then he just left before we could get to our phones. We called right away to express our concerns about his medical condition to management and also to ask about the rest of our order since he hadn't brought everything. The manager said this delivery guy does this all the time! His back was not broken and we shouldn't be concerned because he calls 911 constantly to get out of work. (What the heck? Why is he still working there then?) So then the manager says he'll have the rest of the order delivered shortly. We expected to have a different delivery guy come back with the rest since he said he was going to the hospital - but the same guy showed up like nothing ever happened, and over thirty minutes...
