I leave this place upset every single time I go in. My husband bought my wedding ring there because it was the only jewelry place in town and because we do like to support local, but every time we have gone in since it's been nothing but gut wrenching. I had issues with my ring early on and was told that "all rings are going to snag" which isn't true. The prongs on my ring were so sharp and pulled away from my ring that they were ripping my clothes and cutting myself and my kids. The ring was repaired 3 times and after it was still sharp and catching on things, Longnecker told me that the only way to fix it was to reset it into a different setting but then sat and shouted at his books for about 15 minutes because he was "only going to make $17" and couldn't believe that the price of the metal for a new setting was so low and that he wasn't going to make any money. I decided not to reset the ring and deal with it. I finally took it to another jeweler who fixed it in a day for a reasonable price and they were extremely friendly and explained why he wasn't able to fix it because he wasn't addressing the problem he was just shaving prongs down.
Fast forward and I'm so bummed out about not being able to wear my ring for so long because it's caused such destruction and just sits up too high that I decided to trade it in. He told me on a previous occasion that he would give me dollar for dollar what I paid for the ring in a trade, but then when I wanted to trade he told me that this "wasn't a car dealership" and that's not how things worked. He said "people don’t trade their rings in after 5 years". He was shouting and telling me that he wasn't going to make any money on a dollar for dollar trade. He "wasn't going to 'buy' me a new ring" and that I would have to spend double on a new ring. He insulted the halo style ring and said that he hated that (after I told him that's what I liked) and that the diamonds were falling out all of the time. He tried to get me to take my diamond out of my ring and make it into a necklace and then buy a whole new ring. It was just an extremely frustrating interaction.
Every time I have gone in this store I've left extremely angry, not helped, and upset at being shouted at about how much money he isn't going to make. I can't do business with this establishment and cannot recommend it to another person. Every single time I go in he's went on about how much money he is or isn't making and it's sad, instead of helping me find something that's going to work I was just spoken over, not given a chance to speak, and just shouted at about how things do and don’t work in the jewelry business. I'm not in the jewelry business so I don’t know how things work, but when you ask questions I was just made to feel small and like I was trying to scam the guy...

Read moreI have an Oakley, and a Bomberg watch that needed their batteries changed. They’re not necessarily luxury watches but they’re not cheap either. I brought them both in to have their batteries changed. All of the employees were very knowledgeable on handling the watches. Bill did not claim to be an expert but it was clear that he was. I probably could’ve done the Oakley myself, but I wouldn’t have been able to figure out the Bomberg watch. This is probably the only place in Southwest Nebraska between Kearny and Denver that could’ve changed the battery in the Bomberg without breaking the watch. If you have a Movado or similar watch and you need to have the battery changed, this would be the place...
