I found this salon online which is why Iâm writing a review. There are so many 5-Star reviews that one cannot help but stop in and give it a try. I will ageee that the salon is very nice, clean, and the atmosphere is pleasant. You will not feel like a stranger because Kalisha and the stylist in front of her are friendly and treat you like a friend of the family. Kalisha styled my natural hair in a flexirod set following a picture that I showed her off of the internet. I sat under the dryer for a little over a hour (I even turned it back a extra 15 minutes). When I came from under the dryer and she started taking the rods out, she said âthis (left) side is still a little dampâ. She didnât rerod it, she simply took the rest of the rods out of my hair. I asked her about the left side once I realized she was loosening and pulling the curls apart and she said âit would be fine, she just wasnât going to pull those curls apartâ. Needless to say, my hair looked âokâ in the salon lighting and I figured I could play with it a little once I got home. Well, when I got to my car the natural light exposed my âepic failedâ style. My left side had no actual curls, only slight bends on the tips. My roots were puffed up and the curls were soft and had no bounce to them (they were lifeless). There was no gloss or sheen to my hair, it was just bad. I almost walked back in but I drove off in total embarrassment and disappointment. I was embarrassed because in the salon, I looked at my hair in the hand-mirror, I agreed that it was fine, and I gave Kalisha a tip. I was disappointed because if Kalisha saw what I saw once I got outside, why would you allow a client to walk out representing you looking like that? I drove to the next exit, went inside of a department store, purchased a scrunchie, and pulled my hair up into a ponytail until I could get home (I had other stops to make). I will not say that I wouldnât go back again but I dont think that I will get a natural style done. I also want to plug-in that itâs perfectly fine for a stylist to say âI donât like how this has turned out, letâs try something differentâ. None of us are perfect but as a consumer I do not want to waste time and money walking away totally dissatisfied with any service rendered unto me in which I readily pay for. Natural hair styles take âproper productâ in order for it to be a success. Lesson learned. *I gave 3 stars because I truly enjoyed the stylist and the experience; the outcome of my hair was just a...
Read moreUsed the booking app to make an appointment, the time slot was available for booking. Appointment was declined and stylist marked it as a cancellation on my behalf, so I was charged a cancellation fee if 50%. The stylist did not attempt to reschedule, nor offer other scheduling options, nor contact myself. Charged myself intentionally a cancellation fee. Iâm not understanding the positive reviews for a person who does something of this nature. Since it was done via the booking app, there is NO way to get a refund unless given by the stylist. I should consider myself lucky that an individual of this character DIDN'T LAY HANDS UPON MY CROWN. Way to set the tone for the new year and your business.
Update:1/23/25 IM NOT A SCAMMER. I HAVE MORE THAN ONE REVIEW ON GOOGLE. The stylist lied. Never reached out. As I stated, I did not receive an option to reschedule due to the storm. If you werenât available, then why have your availability open on the app to book?! Did not reply in broken English, the text was grammatically correct but itâs more than apparent that the stylist is uneducated and unprofessional as previously indicated, just based off her response. I have more than one phone number, being that I have a business number since I have a business. I also have Apple products and It syncs all text and calls to your various devices. Again, another sign of the individuals level of education and knowledge. I have used The App before and have had a few appointments(see pics). I asked for a refund because she/the app charged a cancellation fee, when I didnât cancel. I was awaiting confirmation. I had also been to the Stylist one time before & due to that experience, I did not care to go back. She obviously doesnât remember myself. I blocked her after I realized I would not get a refund and considered it a loss. She was the only stylist available in the timeframe that I needed on the app. Didnât have any other options and needed to travel for work. See screenshots below, including prior texts, when I wanted to avoid this the first time. Iâm obviously not lying and she is the one who is grammatically incorrect. Patronize her at your own risk. I stand by my...
Read moreAlthough the owner was kind, all I can say are 2 things... 1. Be VERYYYYY specific on what you are trying to get done to your hair, or you may be walking out the salon worse than you did when you first walked in (LITERALLY).. and 2. SHE MAY LET YOU WALK OUT THE SALON WORSE THAN YOU DID WHEN YOU FIRST WALKED IN đ... I was beyond disappointed and very upset that she made me pay for a service my 8 month old daughter could've done. I would post the pictures how my hair was, but it was just that bad, I'm not even going to embarrass myself. She's in a perfect location and only 10 minutes from my house, but I rather just go to my original lady that's 30 minutes away.
(To her response below... 1. I NEVER told her I get my hair done at someone house. I actually said, I get my hair done at a Dominican salon. The reason I was trying her, is because they are in Stockbridge and she's located 10 mins from my house, so I was hoping to save on drive time. And 2. I never told her what I wanted to pay, I asked what was HER RATE, so if you wanted to charge me $30 or $100 for the service I wanted, you should've said that when I walked in the salon and allowed ME to decide if I wanted to still let you do my hair, because fyi, I still paid $70. And at first I wasn't going to post photos of how horrible my hair was when I first walked out, but now I have to show I'm not just talking to talk. So see the photos and y'all decide for yourselves.) Girl, what I have to lie about... like I mentioned, yall choose for yourselves, obviously others like her, so I'm not saying not to try her out, THIS WAS JUST MY...
