Beachgoers were relaxed and respectful at this family-friendly location. There was no tension between clothed and unclothed visitors. Nobody was policing anyone. Couples, individuals, men, women, old, and young were all present. Folks were quiet and easygoing. The beach itself is fairly narrow, especially on the north side, where the clothing-optional use was concentrated. This side of the beach offers some minimal privacy, shielding visitors from the nearby road, and also provides some natural shade.

Free of litter.

Getting there is challenging, drive, ride, walk, with safety in mind. Parking is limited, a few innovators arrived on mountain bikes or dual sport motorcycles which won't be going all the way to the beach and back, but they're much easier to fit in a limited parking (no proper bike rack). The trail down is short but very steep with a few stair steps. At the bottom, visitors must use a large ladder-like structure to reach the sand. For this reason, the beach is not accessible to everyone.

No signage designates clothing-optional status at all; the practice exists by tradition rather than official recognition. There are no restrooms, showers, or services on site, so visitors should bring their own food and water. Cher-Ai Heights is only a few minutes’ drive away if one seeks artificial...

Good nude beach. Humboldt’s officially undesignated go to for those that want to feel free ! If you’re a tourist bring a hoodie even if you’re nude lol the wind and marine layer can make it chili.

UPDATE: The most recent time I visited this place there was a nasty couple (clothed) walking up and down the beach harassing un-clothed people (unclothed people were making up about 75% of the beach that day). She claims she herself goes nude at the beach often so why did she have her clothes on? It was a sunny day. This beach is private property and open to the public, and is a historically nude beach. MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS LADY. She was appx. 35-45 years old and had a male partner. Do not give these people the time of day and tell them to join the...

This scenic drive is a hidden gem. We went in the fall and it was very desolate, almost surreal. We took the Scenic Drive off 101 at Moonstone Beach and drove up to Trinidad. In the fall there is no one on the beach except a few keen surfers because it’s so cold. No worries about clothing optional -way too cold in the fall to be doing that ...

There is a nice short hike from the road to the ocean. The end, as you can see, is steep. Once you reach the beach it feels like a private area. The rocks near the shore are beautiful and creates big waves and noise as the waves crash around the rocks. This is definitely not a place to swim.
