While I would like to write a good review because the store itself is fairly decent this store has a lot to fix. On arrival there was plenty of parking however there were shopping carts throughout the parking lot. Upon entering the store they had only two cash registers open one regular and self checkout which is limited to 10 items. While walking the store they had pallets all over the floor blocking pathways in and out of aisles. After navigating all of this and getting the items that I was needing and having two carts full of items I ran into issues at checkout. HEB go app is supposed to be for customers and their shopping partners both aka grocery shoppers that do deliveries for HEB. However this store has not turned off that feature for customers and only has it available for partners even though they do not state this anywhere. Not anywhere in the app not anywhere in the store etc. So after spending an hour and a half shopping for groceries two entire full carts worth I get up front and they want to go through and rescan everything after waiting in line 10 minutes before closing time with only one cash register open. I had over $600 worth of groceries sitting inside of my carts with plans to come back and grab more tomorrow. I will no longer be coming back to this location or another HEB again. They are going to have to give a very good explanation for why this failure occurred. This store had a soft opening to prevent issues like this and has been open for long enough that this should have not been an issue. Inexperienced cashiers and management were on hand and had no clue about the applications use. No barcodes can be found at self checkout like it instructs and no ability to check out was available. I had already had frozen food out in the car for the time it took to gather all of my cold items needed for my family. The delay caused by trying to then check out all of those items would have caused the food to start to defrost by the time I got home. I ended up leaving without my groceries and without any resolution to a simple to solve problem. No one appeared to want to help other than to hey just go ahead and spend the time in line and then waiting to scan everything again. Mind you the one line had three people in line with one lady having two full carts with more than I even had. No one genuinely appeared to be wanting to help solve the issue of the application just trying to shove me out of the way and through the normal checkout. Total fail for a company that is supposed to be about customer service. Add to it that while going into use the bathroom and employee was in the bathroom having a conversation with a customer in the middle of the entryway for a good 10 minutes causing others to have issues...
Read moreThe last guy that delivered our groceries could not speak English. HEB pushes the customer to give delivery people a tip. You would think they could speak English if they are getting a tip. Kroger does not push a tip. They tell you to not give their employees a tip. I think HEB is overrated. It's not a Kowalski or Byerlys from Minnesota. Those were gorgeous stores. Even Frys and AJ's in Phoenix had more class. When we returned a dented can the HEB employee delivered to our house last weekend, we were told you have to go through a cashier to return stuff. They have no customer service desk like many stores have. The produce and cakes look great. My husband thought the piece of red velvet cake we bought was just ok and didn't really taste like red velvet. We do love the pharmacy and believe the administration there hired very personable and knowledgeable people to work there. The demo people were friendly. But the bar-b-que sandwich was awful. First they gave us 2 of the turkey sandwiches when my husband had paid for brisket. He went up to the counter and got the right sandwich. The turkey was too spicy along the edges. When ordering the options were not really explained well to us. My husband felt that the brisket tasted like it was cooked in old oil. We have eaten at the Mckinney HEB and our meal was great. Not sure why the meal at this location in Melissa was so blah. We were there last...
Read moreAs a south Texas native I was super excited to be getting an HEB in Melissa. What I missed most when I moved up north was the availability of super fresh fruits and vegetables. I always said and felt no other grocery store compared. I have to take all that back now. I order for delivery 95% of all my groceries from this HEB and each order so far I have had major quality issues with the fresh produce. Today I received a bag of spinach sitting in rotten juices that upon picking up the back you can clearly and visually see the leaves were rotten and wilted and the bag was full of rotting juice. I also purchased a very expensive carton of hydroponically grown strawberries that after opening I had to throw away 5 of the 9 that came in the 5.00 carton because they also were rotten. My romaine lettuce hearts (3 pack) came half frozen(yes frozen) see through and wilted. Groceries are expensive and it’s especially expensive to try and feed my family healthy produce. It seems like HEB intentionally sends rotten produce so they can get rid of it because they know what a pain it is to request a refund and most people (such as myself in the past) would just take the loss. This is unacceptable as this practice can make people sick and die. Do not order produce for delivery from HEB in Melissa and thoroughly check all of your food items for freshness before you trust anything this locations...
