I saw a recent post telling folks to save their time and money and to put their kids in soccer. I had the privilege to race Quartet Midgets here and all over the country from the time I was 5 until I was 12.
I also played baseball, football and basketball. I enjoyed my time in all those sports. However, there is something that racing brings that those sports can't touch- the bond with my Dad, the relationships and friendships we made and the growth I experienced 'GOIN RACIN'.'

A track for the children run by adults who are living vicariously through their kids because they now have the money to be there. The kids who do excel are talked about behind their backs and the ones who don’t are helped and THEN talked about behind their backs. There is no team work here. No one is recognized for the work they put it, only screamed at for whatever affected their child because lord knows Mama needed that trophy she didn’t get when she was 12.
Do yourselves a favor. Save a lot of time, miles, and money and sign up for soccer. I promise it’s a lot more fun for you and the kids. And yes, I have volunteered. It’s just as broken on...
