We recently discovered Casa Di Roma in Meriden, and honestly, I can't believe it's taken us this long. This place is an absolute gem, the kind of spot that reminds you of how great pizza places used to be. The prices, the portions, the quality... it's all on point.
Tonight we got the pepperoni stuffed bread, and it was awesome. Crispy on the outside, loaded inside, and the side of sauce it came with was surprisingly flavorful, not just an afterthought like at some places. We also got a bacon and onion pizza which was fantastic, perfectly cooked, great balance of flavors, and honestly just a great pizza.
The boneless buffalo wings deserve a shoutout too. They’re more like buffalo tenders than your typical small boneless bites, and that’s a good thing. Really generous portions. We also grabbed an antipasto salad which was loaded and good and some chicken tenders and fries for the kids. Here’s the wild part: everything was under $50. In 2025, that’s basically unheard of.
The food is consistently delicious, the service is always friendly, and the whole place gives off that old-school, no-frills vibe in the best possible way. We’ve only done takeout so far, but one of these days we’re planning to dine in just to soak in that nostalgic feel.
We’ve also tried their party pizza in the past and it’s a total steal, tons of food for a great price and the same awesome quality.
Bottom line: Casa Di Roma is exactly the kind of place every town should have, great food, great prices, and a welcoming, throwback feel that keeps you coming back. We’ll definitely be ordering...
Read moreCasa di Roma is Meriden's best pizza place! Being a Meriden resident for decades it's safe to say we've tried all the pizza joints in town. At Casa di Roma, you actually want to eat the crust. I get annoyed when I order a pizza and half of it is crust that is inedible. Not here! They put the toppings right to the edge. Even the kids eat the crust that's how good it is. No rubbery dough. Delivery is always within an hour and we live on the outskirts of town. And the prices. Very inexpensive comparatively. It is the triangle slices Meriden is known for. I grew up on Square slices so it took several years to get used to the triangle thin crusts. However, their pizza doesn't droop over when picking up a piece. It's crisp and cut all the way through so you are not taking all the cheese from the next piece. The meatballs and steak grinders are super as well! Tip: Always look for their Facebook deals. As inexpensive as they are, they still offer great...
Read moreI would have rated This place a 5 because the food is great as well as the management. HOWEVER the older woman who is a counter person is extremely rude, has horrible customer service, & a sense of entitlement. I came in to pay for my food, paid with my credit card and upon signing the receipt she mumbles under her breath “I guess not”. She was referring to the fact that I did not give her a tip. My business alone should be enough and If I did not decide to give a tip it’s not something she should be complaining about. Especially in front of the customer. The customer should not have to feel alienated by a counter person when they pay because they did not have the funds or did not wish to give a tip in her tip jar. She is bad for business and I can’t say that I will be making any orders while she is on the clock! This place needs somebody who is more friendly & professional to match along with the owners positive attitude and great...
