A cheap looking bed with a cold hearted crew that runs this business. Highly recommend not even giving them the business of your time and traffic to their website. The worst humans I have ever purchased something from. I am absolutely blown away by their cut throat approach to customers. They are completely numb to anything besides their bottom line. They would rather you put an eight year child’s life at risk than take a return. Edited to add- yes you will refund for ~$500 plus shipping, and I did NOT choose in home delivery because I did not want that and do not trust people I do not know coming in my home when I am alone with my children. I do not have a garage. I requested standard, curbside- by my residence AND spoke in DETAIL about the access to my porch which is very easy. Not dumped 1/4 mile from my house during a thunder storm. All you had to do was make a phone call for them to turn around. That’s it. Figure out cost and payment later. They would have come right back to pick it up and would have brought it to my porch however they needed to, but you refused to call bc you thought it would be out for your pocket. They would not do it unless you make one phone call and you refused. This is your safe “curbside” delivery. And I did SPEAK in detail with the carrier as to where to leave the bed. The bottom line is yes, my conversation was not documented, you are not “legally”responsible because of this therefor you don’t care. That is the point. Anyone that actually takes pride in their product and appreciates their customers would hate to have this happen and would do anything to fix it. This is ridiculous. How can you look at this picture and not think yeah, even though we checked a box this is messed up. 115 lb women lifting 85lb package in a lightening and tornado storm 1/4 mile away from her house with three young kids, one medically fragile. Because we saved and cut out things to make this very expensive purchase happen. Seriously. It is so messed up. But you checked your box and got your money so I guess you win. I hope your victory feels so very sweet.

So I’m assembling a horizontal Murphy bed and the assembly is going on the second day. Don’t underestimate the complexity of assembly for the pieces of furniture. With hundreds of pieces, I’m also stuck because the hardware package is short two bolts and nuts (5 cents worth of hw) and I now need to find similar pieces at my hardware store. When will companies learn to over supply these small items to reduce customer frustration!!! Going on 8hrs putting this together (several more to go) and no idea if it’s going to work but fingers crossed. In response to the person from Bredabed saying they’re never short of hardware, I call BS. Below is a photo showing the two bolts (nuts on other side) that I had to source from a local Ace. In response to the piece count you provided, yes there are only a few wooden panels, but over twelve metal pieces and a couple of packages of heavy duty springs (oh boy, those will be fun), and hundreds of bolts, nuts and screws. Picture below of where I’m at now after 12 hrs work which included the time to unload the pieces off the pallet that was dropped in my driveway and carry them all upstairs to the room where being installed. Currently I’m fighting with the leg hardware which uses a headless screw that wasn’t tightened or lock tightened into the leg. Additionally requires a deep socket to fully tighten. Since it appears that someone from the company is watching these reviews, let me also add how frustrating it is reading assembly instructions that don’t use consistent nomenclature. At one step the screws are defined as “#8 x 5/8” wood screws” while a few steps later defined as “spline screws” and later again as “short screws”. After scratching my head a while and doing some piece counts I figured out they were all the same. I’m a pretty technical person and don’t need help with the install, I just request good instructions (have someone outside the company QA them), and ALL the necessary pieces!

I am extremely disappointed with Bredabeds and their customer service. We purchased a Murphy bed from them for just under $4,500, and it has been nothing but a headache. One day, while my brother-in-law was pulling the bed down, several springs popped, causing the foot of the bed to come crashing down. Thankfully, he wasn’t injured. My wife informed me of the incident, and when I got home, I noticed the weight of the door had caused additional pieces to snap and break. The spring mechanism was even bent. I had to disassemble the entire thing because it became a serious hazard. We didn’t take photos of the damage at the time because the bed came with a "warranty." However, when my wife reached out to Bredabeds, they refused to honor the warranty, claiming it wasn’t a warranty issue. Initially, I didn’t feel like fighting with them, but when I finally contacted them, they told me it appeared that the bed wasn’t assembled correctly. How could they even know that from a photo of a disassembled bed? Only after I mentioned legal action did they agree to send parts, but now they want to charge $250 for shipping because we moved from Florida to Texas. To make matters worse, I’m now responsible for figuring out which parts, screws, and attachments are needed to reassemble the bed. Who’s to say there’s no further damage to the unit? It feels like a never-ending nightmare. I cannot recommend Bredabeds or their products. I wish I had read the negative reviews before purchasing, and I hope my review will help others avoid making the same mistake. This review will be posted on multiple platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, Yelp, Google Reviews, and submitted to the BBB. I’m beyond frustrated with this entire experience.

I am updating my initial negative response, which is in quotes below, to a positive response due to the response of the owners and staff of BredaBeds to an unacceptable delivery and installation delay. The company did an excellent job in resolving my issue.

" My Initial post: This is an unresponsive company to deal with after a purchased has been made and you have encountered a problem. We purchased a Murphy bed and installation service for the bed on June 14, 2023. The installation service was recommended by and affiliated with BredaBeds. The bed was to be shipped to a freight pick-up location in Dallas, TX and then retrieved by the installer upon arrival and installed at my Mother's home. According to the shipping status the bed arrived in Dallas on July 20, 2023 and remains there to this day (August 12, 2023). I called BredaBeds twice in July and reported the situation, but we received no results. My Mother called the installer, after the bed was delivered in Dallas in July on four separate occasions regarding the status of the delivery, but the installer could not provide a date of when the bed would be delivered and installed. In addition, my Mother called BredaBeds on August 8, 2023 and reported the situation and was informed by Customer Service that they would check with the shipping department and call here back, but they never returned her call. On August 9, I called the shipping company who delivered the bed in Dallas and they informed me that they needed an authorization letter from BredaBeds to allow the installer to retrieve the shipment from their freight pick-up location in Dallas. I then called BredaBeds on August 10, and left a message, but never received a return phone call. BredaBeds failed to provide the required support that we paid for. I strongly recommend to everyone that you do not do business with this company."

Updated Post: Following my initial post I received a phone call from a BredaBeds staff member who appeared to be sympathetic to my situation and willing to resolved the problem. We discussed the details in my initial post and the delivery delay. A couple of days later the staff member called and informed me that the issue was due to the third-party installer inability to perform installations on time resulting a huge backlog of installations. (I was informed that the third-party installer business relationship with BredaBeds was terminated due to delayed installations and false statements about scheduling installations). BredaBeds' solution to resolve the installation delays in TX, which involved my purchase, was to fly a BredaBeds installer (one of the owners) in from out of town to perform the installation. Due to BredaBeds' actions the Murphy bed we purchased was installed a few days later in the following week. I am very thankful that BredaBeds resolved an awful situation in an expedient manner once the issue...

Our Home Office is Now Also a Sometimes-Guestroom

After recovering from the sticker shock of an estimate for a bedroom addition, we decided to look into installing a Murphy bed in our office. Our research landed us at Breda's site, where we were impressed to see the many configuration, cabinetry, and bed-size options. And, super bonus: Breda is local to Idaho, with all manufacturing done at the company's operation right in the Boise area. (They also ship all over the world.)

The showroom has beautiful models on display and Brad will show you the options that best fit your needs. We were amazed at the comfort and quality of the mattresses and the smoothness of the mechanisms, so we ordered a beautiful queen-size model with black cabinetry and above-bed lighting. (There are several color/finish options; your bed will be custom made.) Pricing is competitive, especially given the quality.

We were told that lead time was about six weeks at the time (a little longer than usual, thanks to the pandemic), and it was exactly as quoted. Six weeks after ordering, Devin, the installer, called to schedule installation, saying it would take him (one guy!) only about 1 1/2 hours. He showed up on time and masked. An hour and 20 minutes later, our beautiful bed was complete. (When I expressed my amazement to him, he said he had actually constructed the unit, so it was easy for him to install.) The effect of seeing the gorgeous cabinet against our wall, with all the open space it affords in the room, was a stunning enough effect. It was even more amazing to see the luxurious bed that pulls down smoothly, along with the (in our case) remote-controlled lighting that illuminates it and allows for reading.

Our daughter visited last weekend and was the first to sleep in the bed. When I asked her the next morning how she slept, she said, "Well, I can't remember the last time I slept ten hours straight, so what does that tell ya? It's very comfortable!" (Note: You can buy the Murphy bed with or without Breda's mattress. Get their memory foam mattress--it's heavenly!)

I can't say enough about our experience with Breda and the product itself. Everything was top-notch and pain-free. We love having our office space-guest room configuration and know it couldn't have come together--especially not at a fraction of the high five-figures cost for a room...

The product is not acceptable. It is flimsy and beyond hard to put together. Harder than it needs to be or should be. The instructions are ridiculous and the pictures do not match the pieces so it is hard to know which piece is what or what is right or left. For the price, the quality is sub-par and I can literally bend pieces that are supposed to be support pieces. The delivery process was a nightmare and took forever, even after paying an extra $299 for "white glove service." They contract out to a 3rd party delivery service that is vague in all types of communication, only deliver on certain days, etc. After much back and forth they got my piece delivered through a 4th party delivery team that then tried to charge me over $500. It is now 24 hours into trying to install the bed and the baseboard measurement was wrong and off by a full inch so we had to cut it ourselves and we have had to purchase extra supports from Home Depot just to keep the pieces together and sturdy. BBB complaint filed with rejection from the company. The option of sending back the bed would be a wonderful option if that was a realistic option. We all know that it is not, considering the size and complications of sending it back. The website is misleading and the price does not reflect the product. I wanted to support local and small business but find this company has a response for everything regardless of what I say or how I feel. Hopefully this filing with the BBB will sway other people away from this business and avoid purchasing a bed from them. I feel that I was very patient with BredaBeds and felt their response to the shipping problems was just lip service. If I had not kept emailing and inquiring nothing would have been done. It was only at the last minute that a solution was found, but only after much unnecessary stress. The bottom line is this product is not worth the cost they charge and the directions on putting it together are sub-par and unnecessarily complicated. Like I said the company has an answer for every "complaint." Shame on me for not looking at prior reviews found on Houzz and Yelp. I relied only on the reviews from the BredaBed website which is...
