If this business isn’t a scam, they’re certainly trying to be. My group of eight friends and I booked a 5 p.m. sunset tiki cruise with them weeks in advance of our trip to Florida. We spent over $500 for everyone to attend.
We were booked for a Wednesday, but an hour before the scheduled departure, we received a call informing us that we needed to reschedule due to inclement weather. The next day, someone in my group called earlier to confirm our reservation, but it was once again moved to the following day due to high winds.
On the supposed-to-be day of the trip, we took an Uber to the business at the scheduled departure time only to find that no one was there. There was a note on the door stating that they were closed again due to winds.
We didn’t receive any calls or texts from the business informing us that they wouldn’t be operating that day. After booking another Uber and returning to our Airbnb, we tried contacting the person we had been talking to and other forms of communication listed on the company website.
Hours later, we finally received a text stating that we wouldn’t receive a refund but would instead receive a credit for a future visit. The lack of communication, unprofessionalism, and outright disrespect for us as customers is deeply concerning and hard to understand. They took our money and ran with it.

We woke up early and carefully planned our morning to arrive on time. We even arrived 20 minutes early for our 9:00 AM cruise to ensure there were no issues with traffic or parking. To our shock, no one from the tiki cruise staff was present. We waited until 9:05 AM, and after numerous attempts by my husband to reach someone by phone, he finally received a text message saying that both tiki engines were not working.
This last-minute notification was unacceptable. We should have been informed either the night before or at the very least early that morning so we could have adjusted our plans. Instead, our valuable time and energy were wasted, and what was supposed to be a memorable anniversary celebration was completely ruined.
To make matters worse, it was the team from Surf and Sail—not your own staff—who tried to attend to us when they noticed our distress.

Their refund policy states you get a full refund if you cancel within 24 hours of your trip. I was told they would credit my card for the trip since it was within the time frame. I did not receive the credit so I contacted them on 9/1/25. I was told they would process my credit that evening. I waited until 9/8/25 and no credit so I contacted them again. They apologized and said it was an issue with their card service provider and that it would be handled. I waited until 9/16/25 and still no credit so I reached out once again. This time I didnt even get a reply. It may only be $173.20 I'm owed, but the timing and hassle I've had to go through while taking care of a family members funeral arrangements honestly enrages me. I would have gladly rebooked the trip at a later date but after this, no way. After reading other reviews I'm glad I had to cancel. It sounds like they don't show up or show up late often.
